I don't think a 'proper' relationship has to include sex. But I also think that, despite your fears and past, if you find someone that you really do feel comfortable and safe with sex is something that will naturally happen in its own time, at the right time.

Don't focus on sex as the bigger part of the relationship. There are guys that are understanding and will work with you despite your fears. Too much pressure on yourself to find a guy and to have sex is only going to have negative consequences.

I hope you feel better about it all soon and don't put a lot of pressure on yourself at school. :)

Day tripper says it all really but I found that whilst there were some people look to f*ck a fresher and all the joyous stuff that goes on at uni. There were also a large number of people who didnt want to do that sort of thing and just wanted to enjoy themselves and if they had a relationship for it to count.

If you arent ready for sex then that is fine because if a man cares for you enough he will wait for you to be ready.

I was absolutly terrified of sex, got drunk one night and it happened.. Ok I don't suggest you get drunk and things but once you find someone then it will happen in it's own time and once it's done it done and now i'm not so scared about it and i don't think sex is a major part of a relationship, i've been with my boyfriend for about 5weeks now and we still haven't had sex and at this moment in time it doesn't look like it will be going that way for awhile still.

Try and relax about it..if you find the right person i'm pretty sure it will be ok.

I can completely understand where you're coming from... my best advice? Take it easy and slow and don't rush into anything and try not to worry about it too much. I admit it wasn't easy at first when I started getting out and about socially, and there were some misses, but then I found my current boyfriend and all the fears and worries disappeared for the first time ever. It'll all work out in the end, and I wish you the very best!!!
