Positive recovery post - Im getting there

Hi I am new to recover your life but i thought it might help me with my recovery. I am 19 years old and have been doing all kinds of self harm sense i was 13 years old. I have been abused by my family and by boy friends, but I am going away to college and I relized self harming is never really going to help me. i decided i need to move on from self harming and do everything in my power to stick to my guns but I know I can do it!

Hey,

Welcome to RYL :) I am sorry to hear about your difficult past but I am so, so proud of you for realising that self harm is never going to help you and for looking to the future. You sound like a really strong person and I hope you too can feel proud of yourself.

Wishing you all the best at college and here's to a happy and healthy future!

Well done lovely.

Hello,
First of all welcome to RYL, I hope your settling in okay. I am sorry to hear that you have had a difficult past but it's great that your not letting it hold you back. It's positive that you want to give up self-harm and that you have a great attitude towards it. I believe that you can fight this and know that we are here if you should ever need some support. Good luck with college.

I am currently:

Welcome, and I hope you settle in well. Let me know if you have any questions.
I'm sorry you've have some hard times, but it sounds like you're finding your determination and inner strength (cliche as that sounds), and with those two things you can do just about anything. Self harm doesn't solve problems, so it really is better to get through it and live a happy life without it. I wish you all the best. Take care, and stay strong. xx

oh non-believer, please believe me.
is there honestly nothing in this world
that keeps you living & breathing?
you're a ghost in your own
goddamn city.
