There's probably been a thread like this before, but I think we should have a list of songs about suicide, it's OK if they're about similar things like self-harm or disappearing, but ones you interpret to have suicidal themes in them. Some may consider them triggering and depressing, but I think they're mind soothing and quite therapeutic. Off the top of my head, here are songs I've listened to and liked about suicide. Also at the end in brackets, put the genre of that song there, or at least what the genre vaguely is. Anyways:
Adams Song - Blink 182 (Rock) Breaking The Habit - Linkin Park (Rock) Fade To Black - Metallica (Metal) Suicidal Thoughts - Notorious BIG (Rap) The Suicide Note - Scarface (Rap) Hold On - Good Charlotte (Rock) How To Save A Life - The Fray (Piano Rock) Mad World - Gary Jules & others (Soft Rock) Tourniquet - Evanescence (Christian Rock - don't get the Christian bit put you off if you're not religious though) Slip Out The Back - Fort Minor (Rap) Shadow Of The Day - Linkin Park (Soft Rock) When I'm Gone - Eminem (Rap)
Jumper - Third Eye Blind
Millenium Bug - Jason Webley
The Art of Suicide - Emilie Autumn
Giving In - Adema
Hey Man, Nice Shot - Filter
Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Someone's Crying - The Crimea
It doesn't matter if you have all the people in the world to talk to, you still have to find the strength to say in words, what you would normally say on your skin
^ It can be interpreted that way though, if it helps people I don't think that's a problem :) For example for me it always reminds me of the care and love of the nurses in the psychiatric unit.
'Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.'
['There is only one thing we say to death. Not today'.']
'We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.’ – Oscar Wilde
‘It’s hard to dance with the devil on your back.’ Sydney Carter

It's all about overcoming suicide and "rising above" it.

Take the light and darken everything around me
Call the clowns and listen closely I'm lost without you
Call your name everyday when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Hate the mind, regrets are better left unspoken
For all we know, this void will grow
Everything's in vain, distressing you though it leaves me open
Feels so right but I'll end this all before it gets me
Call your name everyday when I feel so helpless
I'm fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Call your name everyday when I seem so helpless
I'm fallen down, and I'll rise above this, rise above this doubt
I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)
I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)
Call your name everyday when I feel so helpless
I'm fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Forty eight ways to say that I'm feeling helpless
I'm falling down, and I'll rise above this,
Rise above this,
Rise above this,
Rise above this doubt.
