After pretty much 3 days of no heating or hot water, a hot shower is bliss.

That is all.

When I was on Kilimanjaro we hadn't had a shower (or a bed) for 7 days.

Got back to the hotel after. Jumped straight in the shower to wash off 7 days worth of African dust - and the water died!!!!!!! It was our worst nightmare! Thankfully it came back on fairly soon.

First night back in a real bed after a week of sleeping in a tent was lush! Even though I woke up expecting to be in a tent still the next morning!

i know that feeling!
my heating and hot water broke for 5 days when we had the snow!

why do heaters never break in the summer!!

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

One of the most blissful things I've ever experienced was getting back to my well-heated hotel room after a night out in Oslo in winter. It was indescribably cold outside, to the point that you'd get chest pains if you stayed outside breathing that frigid air for more than a few minutes. But when I got back to my room, it was wonderful. It was warm, the bed was extremely comfortable, and even the bathroom floor was heated. I had a bath that night, my first bath in years because we don't have a bathtub at home, and it was so blissfully warm and relaxing that I could barely stand when I got out, just from being so drowsy and sleepy.

It's one of those things I sometimes do to cheer myself up, it's amazing how it can make me feel SO much better.
