Triggering (SI) - email from my aunt

i got an email from my aunt in which she told me that she is very concerned about my cutting yet doesnt believe that i am trying to quit....idk what to tell her...how do i stop her from worrying.....

Maybe tell her what you're doing to try and stop? Let her help you and be involved?

i told her i threw out my blade but idk if she believes me because she keeps on looking at my arms making sure i didnt cut, i never cut my arms tho....

Like _inevermetanothergemini said, tell her what you're doing for stopping.. I guess there's more than just throwing your blades away..
For example tell her you have friends who support you with stopping.. You have RYL so it's not a lie even if you don't have any 'real life' friends supporting you..

Making people worry is no fun, but I think it's kind of hard not to. If it's really bothering you, maybe you could send her a note telling her that you appreciate her concern, but she'd be more helpful if she would trust you to be trying to stop and be supportive instead of being supicious?

People who care about you worry, it's what we humans do lol. It's not just because it's self harm, if you broken your leg she'd still be worried about you even though it was in cast and healing. It's a similar thing here, she knows you're making an effort to stop but is still concerned about you. Maybe just let her know you appreciate her support and will go to her if you need to.

It sounds like your aunt really cares about you, you're really lucky to have a relative like that. Maybe you should try talking to her about how you feel about recovery, and that you need her to trust you.

It's not about worrying me--it's about taking care of yourself. Do you want to? Can you dig deep and figure out why you want to cut?? That's what's important here--did you hear anything I was saying in my last email?
