I'm having this problem at the moment. Was prescribed sertraline earlier this week but already take naproxen for migraines which is an (nsaid) non steroidal anti inflammatory diclafenic. Went back and asked at reception of doctors what I should take instead. I now need to wait a week for a meds review phonecall and have been told not to take any painkillers until then. I hope I don't have a migraine before then as I can't do my job with one and cannot afford any more time off sick.

That sounds really annoying for you; it does sound like the best thing to do is follow the advice given by the doctors. Do you have a specific appointment for the meds review phone call or are they just going to get in touch in a week? Fingers crossed you don't get a migraine!

My doctor is ringing Friday morning. Have had to explain this to work and need to work in a different area due to extremely strict rules on mobiles.

I would speak to a pharmacist
I work in a pharmacy and know people who take neproxin and sertraline together.
Would be worth speaking to the pharmacist as you'll get advice straight away and they may be able to suggest something you can buy over the counter till you see your Dr

I spoke to them first. They suggested co-codamol but all that does is Knocks me out and I need to work. Or sumatriptan but that makes me feel like I'm being strangled before I feel better.

My doctor says as I don't take them all the time I should be OK. He. Just said to take both the naproxen and the sertraline with food.
