zoloft weaning off

I've been weaning off zoloft for two months now, and everyday I feel worse and worse... Has any of you done this before? What should I do?

Thank you so much!

I had a horrible time coming off sertraline. I came down from the highest dose and it was awful. I made a thread about it at the time actually. What dose are you on? Are you coming off it with support from your doc?

It's worth mentioning to your doc the problems you are having. The advice I got which helped bundles was when I reduced from say 150mg to 100 mg to do it very gradually. If the withdrawals got too much, to go back on 150 for a bit, then try again.

I would recommend talking to your doc about this though x

I was on 100mg and now I'm taking 25mg every other day, next week I'll be stopping it. Yes I am, I'm following the schedule that she gave me.

I'm scared of telling her because I'm trying so hard to not get worse but I'm sure she won't see it, she'll just tell me to exercise or something like that, like my parents tell me everytime I'm feeling down. I just want to cut, I don't know what else to do... I can't do anything, I can't exercise because I have no energy at all, I can't sleep properly because I have nightmares, I can't concentrate on school or books... I don't know what else to do :(

I think that it's important to tell your doc what's going on for you. That way you can get some more support with it.

There's no need to feel scared about telling her, she will have heard this before. It's her job and she is there to support you. If you tell her now, she may be able to intervene before it's too late and you become unwell again :)

I have a family therapy appointment with her tomorrow, maybe I'll talk to her. How did you go through it? are you well now? What helped you with the withdrawal?

That's a good idea, I hope you manage to tell her :)

I had more physical effects from stopping the med. I was just discharged from my old psychiatrist at the time so it wasn't great. I was dizzy, and very sick. I spoke to my GP and people on here, where I was told about doing it really slowly etc.
The physical effects for me went away after about 3 months.

I also feel dizzy and sick, I have headaches and there are days when I can't keep myself standing, I'm having real troubles with keeping my balance.

Three months after you started the weaning or three months after your first day without the medication?

Three months after I started weaning. If you are feeling that unwell it would definitely be advisable to contact a doctor. That's the advice I was given.

Hope you start to feel better soon
