Are you offended by this?
So. My sister was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and whilst generally browsing she pulled out a checked shirt and I joked ‘well you can wear that if it’s a lesbian wedding’ and she was horrified and told me I could not say such things. On further questioning she informed me that the stereotype of wearing checked shirts is offensive to lesbians. I told her I was a lesbian (she did know this already, this isn’t a coming out story!) and she quite rightly said that I can’t speak for all lesbians. I have thus far consulted two other lesbians, neither of whom were offended, though one of them confessed to not owning any checked shirts which we aim to rectify at some point. But I would like to consult a wider pool of opinions so here we are.
As a disclaimer, whilst this poll is slightly tongue in cheek, I am genuinely interested in the responses, even if this proves me wrong!! Also, if you are not a lesbian, feel free to still vote :)

Never forget what you are for the rest of the world will not.

Not at all offended by lesbian stereotypes, I wear a lot of checked shirts :P

Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.

maybe cosult the council of lesbians and ask them if it is offensive
in all seriousness though it's not offensive, it seems everyone is out to be offended these days and it's getting boring

I'm bi, so my opinion only half counts.
But no, not offensive. Unless it's being used to mock or shame, but that's true of everything

Definitely not offended. I laughed. I'm not a lesbian anymore, but I was, does that count?

Absolutely things can change as you figure yourself out and change over time. Especially considering my gender identity changed.

Camden, I’m just surprised I got away with not including rusty spoons in the poll!

I did notice the lack of rusty spoons and was upset, but I was also pleased to see lesbianz in there so I decided it was acceptable.
Being the poll police can be quite difficult, as you know. :P
