fluoxetine...HELP!

Sorry to post guys...there are probably a million threads about Fluoextine already but I just wanted to know has anyone been on it and it has stopped them being able to cry?

I can't cry! Things happen that I should cry about or used to cry about and nothing...not one drop...is it just me....?

I can't react to things properly, I feel broken... (well I would be if I could!)

any help or replies would be appreciated :)

thanks guys

Loz

We know some people who find a similar numbing of emotions.
How long have you been on fluoxetine?
Perhaps it has the same effect on us, we don't cry bu we have been on the meds for 8 years since we were just about to turn 11....
take care

I've been on fluoxetine for 5/6 months. For the first few months I couldn't cry and it was honestly the most frustrating thing ever. Now I'm back to crying like a baby :P

I had a similar experience on fluoxetine but for me, it did pass in time.

I'm on fluoxetine and i can't cry but i don't know whether that is connected to the medication or not. Could you talk to your psych about this?

I've been on it for a year and a half and I can't cry anymore either. One of my friends died and I couldn't even cry. It's really frustrating, because a lot of the time crying helps me to feel better.

I found I couldn't cry on most SSRI's. I've been fluoxetine, ciltalopram and now sertraline. I quite prefer it because normally i cry for no reason. It's a bit of a relief for me lol
Hope you're ok. If you need any more help on fluoxetine feel free to message me

I've been on it for around a year now, and it stops me from crying. Very frustrating as it's my only other outlet besides SI.

Despite the not being able to cry, I do find that it helps me.

thank-you for all your replies I really do appreciate it. *hugs*
Makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one so I'm not broken...hopefully :p

I find it quite frustrating because like said above it is one of my only outlets and I never thought I would say it but I miss being able to cry...I need it....feels like it is just building up inside...like I am just going to explode....or actually implode (sp?)

thanks again
hugs

I've been on prozac for 2 years and all it has done is made me feel like a robot. I couldn't show/feel any emotion although, I can get angry at the slightest thing. Prozac worked at first but now I just don't see any point of being on it. The only time I can cry/ show emotion is when I have had a drink.
