Reasons why

Please could someone tell me reasons why I don't want a wound to become infected. I'm struggling for reasons to take care of it.

Thank you so much x

If it becomes infected you will have to practice even more self care by possibly taking antibiotics if it is bad. What makes it difficult for you to look after your wounds?

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Once a wound is infected it's out of your control. It's for your body and medicine to decide if it heals and how much damage the infection does. You have no say.

If it gets infected it could take much longer to heal, and might get to a stage where you need to urgently seek treatment. It may also be more painful/itchy and require quite a high level of physical self-care to look after.

Do you know what it is that is preventing you from wanting to take care of your wounds?
