Ideas to cheer someone up

Hiya all :)

Need a bit of creative help! My Grandma is pretty down at the moment. She has depression anyway and lost her husband of 56 years 3 1/2 weeks ago and is dealing with parkinson's and cancer on top of that. Basically I want to do something to cheer her up a bit.

Can't go down at the moment (she lives 130 miles away) because I am in the middle of exams but any ideas of anything to do or send her like packages etc would be great.

Thanks muchly :)

Maybe you could write her a letter about what you're doing and telling her that you're thinking of her and stuff. I know that always cheers mine up.

I was thinking about that, but we are really close so I speak to her everyday anyway lol so she would already know it. Thanks though x

A home made card that you can personalise for her? There are loads of things that you can get around now for that kind of thing, or maybe if you have pictures of her or you then make a collage of them? Sorry if these seem naff xx

make her a cross stitch picture!
yes it will be boring and yes doing it will do your head in and test your patience but she will love it :p
something with flowers on it.
also cheap to post.
genius.
and don't say you can't cross stitch cos we all can and they come with instructions anyway.

Cross stitch does not do your head in. i do a lot of it and find it very relaxing

Go to a florist shop and send her some flowers via interflora. You go to the shop and chose the bouquet you want to send, the send the order through to a flower shop near here, who make up the bouquet and deliever them to her

Write her a letter anyway, its always nice to recieve post like that

Yeah, write her a letter anyway. Even if it's just like "I wanted to send you something that would remind you that I love you every time you look at it." Draw her a picture or something - I recently sent my parents one as a joke but they loved it and it's now up in my Dad's office :)
You can buy really cheap A4 clip frames and make a collage or something and then send that on.
Send a DVD/video? Also practical as it'd take her mind off things for a bit. If she really likes an actor/film see if you can find an autographed/collectors edition thing on eBay or something.
Vinyl of her favourite song?
Sorry, lots of ideas there that are probably ****.

&& then buffy staked edward. the end.
