scared of writing my CV

I have a CV [resume] to write, and I'm scared. Why am I scared of writing a CV?
I deleted everything in the midst of my psychotic breakdown a couple of years ago. But. Is it because I feel so distanced from my working life? Or something more? How can I even begin to start writing the CV, never mind working?

I feel you. I had such a mental block with creating one when I applied to grad school. Every time I tried I had panic attacks and spiraled almost immediately into being suicidal.

What I eventually ended up doing was having a friend sit down with me, giving me theirs, and just replacing their info with mine while they walked me through it.

I know CVs are different to resumes, but I actually found starting with the CV easiest. I still don't have an actual resume lol.

I don't know if that was at all helpful, but I can definitely relate to how hard it is to figure that type of stuff out. The only way I was able to do it was with a lot of one on one support.

Thanks so much.

I do have the advisor to help me, so I may leave more up to him. It's good to know I'm not alone in these struggles.

Basically, I'm scared of the paranoia coming back.

I have managed an outline written on paper, at least. :)

Well done. Starting with slotting the easier bits into the outline might be a way to get started and then motivate yourself to keep going. What do you think might trigger your paranoia? Hopefully you can get help from the advisor and try to take care of yourself while you're going through this.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.

Hello. :)

The employment advisor at my local charity got mine sorted for me with me. I just ... just.... need to type it up now. Thanks.

Nice! Definitely progress. Is there a way with typing it up to break it down at all so it feels less overwhelming?
