ello everyone. I am about 10mins new to the site. Not sure where to go from here.
I have some questions about the rules. I do understand them, but say someone has a problem that is listed in the rules. How do we help or ask for help without disrupting the rules? Just making sure nothing is harmfull towards others sorta deal?
Try to explain the problem without being too specific, don't mention thinks like number of cuts or amounts overdosed on etc. If you think it is triggering use the appropriate label. If you're still worried abou if your post is ok or not you can PM a moderator (people with red usernames) with what you want to post and ask them to check it over.

My sister told me to join this site.. because... yeah well.. i have problems.. i like to think it's not as bad as everyone else says.. but i know that.. they're probably right.. i've done.. things.. i know i shouldn't do.. but i don't know how to stop.

Okay, i understand the rules better now. I just don't understand how this site works lol. I am not one for looking for handouts, or a pity party. But i am wondering how everyone elses lives with whatever disability they have. And want to at least give this site a try before i give up on it.
Err... I have no clue how to navigate this- I'm a bit of a technical novice. (Tumblr was so much easier!) I think I know how to view private messages, so PM me maybe? (Ugh. That song....) I have no clue about even the most basic of things, so you're getting a brand-new person to corrupt! ;P I'm pretty sure my mood is going to stay confused for a long while....
Hi everyone, I have been told about this web site by my daughter, she had the strength today to tell me she self harms, and she is already a member of this site (I have no idea what her user name is, but that's her choice of course). So I guess what I'm trying to say (badly as always) is I would like to help anybody I can and at the same time learn as much as possible so I can help my daughter and others. Nothing is going to be too much effort and I believe understanding and not judging people is the first step to helping. Any advice you can share I would be grateful forever.
Youre not alone being the parent of members that self harm. I think there are few members whose parents have accounts on the site. My mum had one about 4/5 years ago.
I hope youre ok. Explore the forums and by all means make a thread asking for advice should you need it.
