It reallly doesn't make much sense!

That is quite a lot!

We have a 15 min break and an hour for lunch.
I don't know what im going to do for an hour though
Takes me 5 mins to eat lunch!
When I have some actual work to do, I'll probably just sit in the library.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Well 1 of the 8 modules is group tutorial but we have to do our personal statement/UCAS stuff in that I think so it's not really a break. We also have a independent study project which has to be 5,000 words and that's separate from all the other modules!

Is your timetable quite full? Or are your modules more spaced out over the year?

Doing work in the library over your lunch break sounds like a good idea as then you'll have less to do at home. Luckily my college has really good Access Course facilities and we have our own building which includes a cafe, vending machines and a common room. So we don't have to hang out with all the 6th formers lol.

My course sounds quite similar in terms of the ucas stuff and a 5000 word research project

I have a unit tracking sheet and there's quite a lot going on!
And we get to do practical science stuff which will be cool!

That sounds cool!
We're in a tower block so the access floor is our floor and we have a common room with a little kitchen and some other stuff.
Theres a cafeteria on the mezzanine floor which is good. And some vending machines dotted around!

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Yeah I'll hoping in my free periods to complete my UCAS stuff early so at least that'll be out of the way for the when the other modules start. I don't know how much of a dent in the 5,000 word project I'll be able to make though!

I've been given an individual sheet for 2 classes which show assignment deadlines and a week by week plan of what we'll be covering. I'm just hoping I'll get them for all my classes! I've had a massive drama with the timetables as our rooms have been changed once already. I also noticed that we'd been set the same module on different days with different teachers. I went to the main administration person and they hadn't even noticed it themselves! So I'll probably get another amended timetable again soon.

That's good that you've got your own space. It makes it easier to get to know others on your course and a mini kitchen is cool!

That's cool that you get to do lab work!
I'm assuming that you've got quite a few science modules?
I definitely couldn't cope with having to do biology again!

I've already done most of my ucas stuff.
Need to add to the education bit and finish my personal statement.
The ucas person reads through everything before you send it which is reassuring!

We've just got a sheet with all the modules on it.
There are a lot!
I guess we'll get more detailed timetables when we actually start the classes.
And apparently everything will be on Moodle anyway!

Yes we have a 'chemistry of biology' module.
I liked science at school, especially biology so I'm hoping it will be ok!

Were you able to create your UCAS account without your College buzzword and then add it in later? Or did you need it to sign up?
As I don't want to create a UCAS profile and then have to do a new one.
It's good that you've already made a start though.

Yeah I was surprised at how many modules the course has as well. But at least it means when we get to university we'll have all the groundwork we need!

That's good, hopefully you'll enjoy it then. I got a C at science but wasn't very good at it. I liked Physics best because we got to burn stuff on the Bunsen burners and our teacher would make us cups of tea and give us biscuits.

Not entirely sure.
I created the account about a year ago and didn't even know buzzwords were a thing.
So as long as it's not a new thing, I'm sure you'll be able to add it later.
I'll check it out tomorrow.
I have my buzzword now anyway.

Yep that is true!
The whole course is geared to prepare us for uni

Haha!
Sounds like an awesome physics class! :p
Physics was my least favourite

Ah ok then.
I might get it off my tutor beforehand anyway just incase!
We've been told that we can only get our UCAS applications sent off late November as they don't want to give us the academic reference before they've actually been able to properly assess our work. So I can do mine slowly lol.

I've actually noticed that quite a few of my Access modules are very similar to the 1st year uni modules so hopefully it'll be helpful this time next year.

Have you decided which section of nursing you're going to specialise in?

Yeah I think the teacher felt bad for us as we were bottom set so he tried to bribe our to do our coursework and revise!

Good plan!!

I'm definitely going into Adult nursing but I'm not sure what I'd like to specialise in yet.
I think neurology could be cool.
Theres someone in my class who wants to be a chiropodist which I find strange!
Feet are gross!

Haha! Sounds like a cool teacher!

Well at least you've got time to figure it out.

Eew that does sound gross!, I hate my own feet let alone random peoples.

My timetable has changed again so now I finish at 3:30pm today which is good as it gives me some time to study in lunch when things start getting more intense.

I've been given my first proper assignment title and word limit of 2,000 words but we haven't actually got the brief or assessment criteria which is a bit annoying! As I want to start asap while I have lots of motivation and no other essays to distract me.

Hey guys, hope it's okay for me to post.
Beckie and Lilo, hope the assignments aren't too tasking.

I had a disappointing first year of uni. My MH got in the way of second semester so I failed, I basically tried to do the bare minimum with three assignments in a day so failed, which sucks arse. The worst thing is I got 2.1's for the first semester. Anyway, I'm repeating the second semester starting January so I've got a fair few months to get the assignments done by. The thing is what's troubling me is student finance, I tried to change my application to let them know I'm repeating the semester but that's not what I'm supposed to do as they still think I'm full time whereas I'll actually be temporarly part time til second year where subsequently I'll become full time again. So they sent me a change of circumstance form which my dad and I filled out and sent a letter explaining how I would like my application cancelled so I can apply for a part time loan (a part time loan will cover the tuition but not maintenance which is a bugger because it meant my dad had to pay my rent as I live away). They received the letter and they said at the end of the week my application will be cancelled, I checked and it wasn't so I called and another random dude from SFE said my letter wasn't sufficient and they'll send me ANOTHER change of circumstance form to fill out. I'm stressed. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, im tired.

Of course its ok for you to post my dear!!

That sounds really confusing.
SFE aren't known for their good communication skills :/
Is there some sort of support service at uni who can help you?

Im glad you've decided what to do.
Having input from friends and family is really important.
How are you feeling about it all?

Im back from college.
We've got 2 weeks of just 'study skills' which is tedious and confusing!
But I've made a few friends and we've got a group chat going on WhatsApp so that actually helps

Im about to start on first assignment which is due Friday

It was good thanks other than the obvious horrible introductions in front of the whole class and group team building activities! Not great for a person with social anxiety but i'm feeling pretty proud of myself for joining in and getting through it :)

Thanks :) I think next week is going to be a little bit of that too, and going through our set up for the course and then after that hopefully we'll get on to the actual learning!
