Once again thanks for the replies.....

1) There is only one journey. Going inside yourself.
Rainer Maria Rilke

2) Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. Francesca Reigler

3)
A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book. Irish Proverb

4)
People deal too much with the negative,
and what is wrong.....

Why not try and see positive things,
to just touch those things and make them bloom?

5) It seems to me we can never
give up longing and wishing
while we are thoroughly alive.
There are certain things
we feel to be beautiful and good
and we must hunger after them.

George Eliot

6) Trials are but lessons
that you failed to learn,
presented once again.
So, where you made a faulty choice before,
you can now make a better one,
and thus escape all pain
that what you chose before has brought to you.

~ A Course In Miracles ~

7)
Difficulties are opportunities to better things,
they are stepping stones to greater experience.
Perhaps some day you will be thankful
for some temporary failure in a particular direction.
When one door closes,
another always opens,
as a natural law it has to be, to balance.

~ Brian Adams (from 'How to Succeed') ~

8)
Though no-one can go back
and make a brand new start,
anyone can start from now
and make a brand new end.

~ Author Unknown ~

9)
Pain by itself is merely pain,
but the experience of pain coupled with an understanding
that the pain serves a worthy purpose is suffering.
Suffering can be endured because there is a reason for it that is worth the effort.
What is more worthy of your pain than the evolution of your soul?

~ Gary Zukav - from "Seat Of The Soul" ~

10) The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur
when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled.
For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort,
that we are likely to step out of our ruts
and start searching for different ways
or truer answers.

~ M. Scott Peck ~

11)

We are all in the gutter,
but some of us are
looking at the stars

~ Oscar Wilde ~

12) When we are no longer able to change a situation,
we are challenged to change ourselves.

~ Viktor Frankl - from Man's Search For Meaning ~

There is no agony like
bearing an untold story inside of you.

~ Maya Angelou ~

14)
Change your words into truths, and then change that truth into love. - Stevie Wonder, As

15) Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

- - Frank Outlaw

16)
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

- Groucho Marx

17)
A champion is someone who gets up, even when he can't

- Unknown

18)
"Everything is okay in the end, if it's not ok, then it's not the end."

- Unknown

19)
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Well i wrote two poems today and figured i will post them here....tell me what u think about them

1) “I think I can”
“I think I can”
Repeat that over and over
It will become true
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
Everyday it gets easier
To succeed

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
I see a mountain on the horizon
My goal is to summit it
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
I keep moving forward
Day by day

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
Sometimes progress is so slow
It seems like I’m going backwards
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
But every moment
Is a moment closer to reaching the goal

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
The trek towards the mountain
Starts on day one
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
The trek doesn’t stop
Until the sun stops shinning

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
Once I reach the mountain
There is another one after
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
Once I reach my goal
I start my next trek

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
The journey never ends
As long as I keep moving
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
If I give up
I’ll never reach my destination

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
My trek isn’t mine alone
It also involves those who care about me
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
If one person slips
Hold out a hand and help them up

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
If I help others
They will in turn help me
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
I can’t reach my goal
Without the help of others

“I think I can”
“I think I can”
Step by step, moment by moment
The destination becomes within reach
“I think I can”
“I think I can”
That one saying
Helped me succeed

2) If I don’t try
I won’t fail
But if I don’t fail
I won’t succeed

Everyday I tell myself
“I won’t give up,
I’ll keep trying
No matter how hard
How impossible
It seems.”

That saying
Keeps me going
Keeps me realizing
That I can’t quit
That nothing is impossible.

The harder I try
The easier it gets
Sure it takes time
It takes effort
But the more time
The more effort
The more I can accomplish.

Everyday I tell myself
“I won’t give up,
I’ll keep trying
No matter how hard
How impossible
It seems.”

I repeat that
Over and over
In my head
Until it sticks
Until I don’t even have to think about anymore
It becomes second nature

The harder the task
The more effort it takes
The higher the risk
The more mistakes I make
But with out the mistakes
Without taking the risk,
I can’t learn
For future times
What works
And what doesn’t
What helps
And what doesn’t

Everyday I tell myself
“I won’t give up,
I’ll keep trying
No matter how hard
How impossible
It seems.”

It helps me set a goal
That’s not too easy
Yet not impossible
That’s not in reach
But not so far
A goal that makes me expand
Expand my thoughts
Expand my knowledge
Learn from my mistakes
But every time I fall,
Helps me get right back up.

If I get discouraged
After every time I slip
I’ll just end up
On my back
Laying there
Getting stepped on
Because I didn’t have the courage
To try again
I didn’t have the strength
To get back up
I didn’t have the knowledge
That everyone fails
That it’s normal to slip
It’s just a part of recovery
It’s a part of life.

Thanks for the feedback :) glad you liked the poem.....(shows what i do in class instead of paying attention...oops)

well time for more quotes.....

1) "We live in deeds, not years: In thoughts not breaths; In feelings, not in figures on a dial. We should count time by heart throbs. He most lives Who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the best."
David Bailey

2)
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

3)
"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together."
Vincent Van Gogh

4)
"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved." William Jennings Bryan

5)
"Everyone is trying to accomplish something big, not realizing that life is made up of little things." Frank Clark

6)
"We achieve everything by our efforts alone. Our fate is not decided by an almighty God. We decide our own fate by our actions. You have to gain mastery over yourself. . . . It is not a matter of sitting back and accepting." Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

7)
"What is the recipe for successful achievement? To my mind there are just four essential ingredients: Choose a career you love . . . Give it the best there is in you . . . Seize your opportunities And be a member of the team. In no country but America, I believe, is it possible to fulfill all four of these requirements." Benjamin F. Fairless

8)

"Most of us can learn to live in perfect comfort on higher levels of power. Everyone knows that on any given day there are energies slumbering in him which the incitements of that day do not call forth. Compared with what we ought to be, we are only half awake. It is evident that our organism has stored-up reserves of energy that are ordinarily not called upon — deeper and deeper strata of explosible material, ready for use by anyone who probes so deep. The human individual usually lives far within his limits." William James

9)
"The heights by great men reached and kept,
Were not obtained by sudden flight
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night.

Standing on what too long we bore
With shoulders bent and downcast eyes,
We may discern — unseen before,
A path to higher destinies."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

10)
Only if you reach the boundary will the boundary recede before you. And if you don't, if you confine your efforts, the boundary will shrink to accommodate itself to your efforts. And you can only expand your capacities by working to the very limit." Hugh Nibley

11)
"Five minutes, just before going to sleep, given to a bit of directed imagination regarding achievement possibilities of the morrow, will steadily and increasingly bear fruit, particularly if all ideas of difficulty, worry or fear are resolutely ruled out and replaced by those of accomplishment and smiling courage." Frederick Pierce

12)
"She looked at the crowd and she felt, simultaneously, astonishment that they should stare at her, when this event was so personally her own that no communication about it was possible, and a sense of fitness that they should be here, that they should want to see it, because the sight of an achievement was the greatest gift a human being could offer to others." Ayn Rand

13)
The most effective way to achieve right relations with any living thing is to look for the best in it, and then help that best into the fullest expression.
*Allen J. Boone {American Author}

14)
Work as though you would live forever, and live as though you would die today.
*Og Mandino {1923-1996 American Motivational Author & Speaker}

15)
In this age, which believes that there is a short cut to everything, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest.
*Henry Miller {1891-1980 American Author}

16)
You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself.
*Galileo {1564-1642 Italian Astronomer & Mathematician}

17)
"Every great achievement is the victory of a flaming heart."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

18)
"You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change."
Les Brown

19)
"Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future."
Christian D. Larsen

20)
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

theese are all love ones...

To love is one thing, to be loved is another, but to be loved by the one you love is everything!*

* Love me now, love me never, but if you love me, make it last forever!*

*
Love with your heart, not with your eyes!*
*
You know you love someone when you want so much for them to be happy... even if happy means without you in it*
*
We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly*
*
A kiss is just a kiss until you find the one you love. A hug is just a hug until it's the one your thinking of. A dream is just a dream until you make it come true. Love is just a word until it's proven to you!*
*
If you love someone, draw a circle around their name, not a heart, because a heart can be broken but a circle goes on forever*
*
If you love someone, tell them, because hearts are often broken by words left unspoken*

If you love me, let me know, if you don't, let me go, for I will love you till the day I die, but love is nothing if it's a lie*

"A woman watches her body uneasily, as though it were an unreliable ally in the battle for love."
-"The Favorite Game," Leonard Cohen

"We don't read and write poetry because its cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is full of passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering: these are noble pursuits necessary to sustain life, but poetry, beauty, romance, love. These are what we stay alive for."
-Dead Poet's Society

"Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds."
-Anaïs Nin

"There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state to another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life."
-"The Count of Monte Crisco," Alexandre Dumas

"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance."
-Carl Sandburg

"A doctor wrote her some XANAX; the drug seemed to make her dreams even more spectacular and emotionally unfamiliar, as though they were drawn from the stuff of someone else's life. Sleeping and waking, the notion of being lost, of having wandered out of the right life, kept turning up in different guises. She imagined mirrors in which she could not find herself."
-"Outerbridge Reach," Robert Stone

"What I want is to be needed. What I need is to be indispensable to somebody. Who I need is somebody that will eat up all my free time, my ego, my attention. Somebody addicted to me. A mutual addiction."
-"Choke," Chuck Palahniuk

Virtue sometimes pretends. Vice is always sincere.
The lovelorn: knowing the fictive nature of their misery does not ease their suffering.

1) All great achievements require time."
Maya Angelou

2)
"With greater confidence in yourself and your abilities, you will set bigger goals, make bigger plans and commit yourself to achieving objectives that today you only dream about."
Brian Tracy

3)
"Our achievements speak for themselves. What we have to keep track of are our failures, discouragements and doubts. We tend to forget the past difficulties, the many false starts, and the painful groping. We see our past achievements as the end results of."
Eric Hoffer

4)
"My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success."

5) Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstances. -Bruce Barton

6)
A constant struggle, a ceaseless battle to bring success from inhospitable surroundings, is the price of all great achievements. -Orison Swett Marden

7)
Think of yourself as on the threshold of unparalleled success. A whole clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve! -Andrew Carnegie

8)
True happiness is not made in getting something. True happiness is becoming something. This can be done by being committed to lofty goals. We cannot become something without commitment. -Marvin J. Ashton

9)
My strength is the strength of ten because my heart is pure. -Tennyson

10)
I would rather fail in a cause that will ultimately succeed than succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail. -Woodrow Wilson

11)
Pursue, keep up with, circle round and round your life, as a dog does his master's chaise. Do what you love. Know your own bone; gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still. -Thoreau

12)
THE POWER OF A COMPELLING CAUSE RESTS IN THE SOUL OF ITS CREATOR, because a cause springs from the soul. It is a spiritual statement from one soul that cannot be the result of many. It comes from a deep place of knowing, some conviction that a richly imagined future could in some way, dramatically and positively, change the world. -Lance Secretan, author "Inspirational Leadership"

13)
Not failure, but low aim, is crime. -J.R. Lowell

14)
All the performances of human art, at which we look with praise or wonder, are instances of the resistless force of perseverance: it is by this that the quarry becomes a pyramid, and that distant countries are united with canals. If a man was to compare the effect of a single stroke of the pick-ax, or of one impression of the spade with the general design and last result, he would be overwhelmed by the sense of their disproportion; yet those petty operations, incessantly continued, in time surmount the greatest difficulties, and mountains are levelled, and oceans bounded, by the slender force of human beings. -Johnson

15)
You will never have a greater or lesser dominion than that over yourself. The height of a man's success is gauged by his self-mastery; the depth of his failure by his self-abandonment. And this law is the expansion of eternal justice. He who cannot establish dominion over himself will have no dominion over others. -Leonardo Da Vinci

16)
In vain do they talk of happiness who never subdued an impulse in obedience to a principle. He who never sacrificed a present to a future good, or a personal to a general one, can speak of happiness only as the blind speak of color. -Horace Mann

17)
What we truly and earnestly aspire to be, that in some sense we are. The mere aspiration, by changing the frame of the mind, for the moment realises itself. -Mrs. Jameson

18)
The road to success is not to be run upon by seven-leagued boots. Step by step, little by little, bit by bit--that is the way to wealth, that is the way to wisdom, that is the way to glory. Pounds are the sons, not of pounds, but of pence. -Charles Buxton

19)
A truly wise person will constantly move forward, striving for self-improvement....The joys of happiness can only be realized by living lofty principles. -Ashton

20)

Figure it out for yourself, my lad,
You've all that the greatest of men have had;
Two arms, two hands, two legs, two eyes,
And a brain to use if you would be wise,
With this equipment they all began--
So start from the top and say, I CAN.
Look them over, the wise and the great,
They take their food from a common plate,
And similar knives and forks they use,
With similar laces they tie their shoes;
The world considers them brave and smart,
But you've all they had when they made their start.
You can triumph and come to skill,
You can be great if you only will;
You're well equipped for what fight you choose,
You have arms and legs and a brain to use;
And the man who has risen great deeds to do
Began his life with no more than you.
You are the handicap you must face,
You are the one who must choose your place.
You must say where you want to go,
How much you will study the truth to know;
God has equipped you for life, but He
Lets you decide what you want to be.
Courage must come from the soul within
The man must furnish the will to win.
So figure it out for yourself my lad,
You were born with all that the great have had;
With your equipment they all began,
Get hold of yourself and say, I CAN."
--- George Washington Carver --

There is nothing terribly wrong with feeling lost, so long as that feeling precedes some plan on your part to actually do something about it. Too often a person grows complacent with their disillusionment, perpetually wearing their "discomfort" like a favorite shirt. Hey here are some quotes i just found......

J.K Rowling

- Anything is possible if you've got enough nerve

- Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself

- His priority did not seem to be to teach them what he knew, but rather to impress upon them that nothing, not even... knowledge, was foolproof.

- Humans have a knack for choosing precisely the things that are worst for them.

- If you want to see the true measure of a man, watch how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.

- It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.

- It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

- It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our friends, but just as much to stand up to our enemies.

- Never be ashamed! There's some who'll hold it against you, but they're not worth bothering with.

- The best of us must sometimes eat our words.

- The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and must therefore be treated with great caution.

Jim Carrey quotes

- And live now. Because this is all there is. And enjoy now like a child. And be your authentic self.

- But, in retrospect, it always seems to work out that you can look back on something that was a disaster and find some gems in there.

- Each of us has a spark that identifies who you are as a person. Even if I'm not as popular as I might be playing the same character, I'll find a way to get into new and challenging areas.

- I just want to be myself.

Robin Williams quotes

- No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.

- What's right is what's left if you do everything else wrong.

To stretch out so that we could disappear
Into the endlessness of blue
Into the horror of the truth
We are far less than we knew

Wow, this thread is great, it's made my day.
I didn't spot my favourite quote ever though, so I'll add it because it always makes me feel better.

"Remember that hope is a good thing, Red, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
Stephen King - The Shawshank Redemption

1) [The void] It's that place in our lives where what we've been hanging onto . . . clinging to for dear life . . . is stripped away. It's that place in us where we let go of what we know, what we think we know, and what we want and surrender to the unknown. It is the place of saying and
meaning, 'I don't know.' It means standing there with our hands empty for a while, sometimes watching everything we wanted disappear; our self image, our definition of who we thought we should be, the clones we've created of ourselves, the people we thought we had to have, the things we thought were so important to collect and surround ourselves with, the job we were certain was ours, the place we thought we'd live in all our lives. . . Surrender control to the supreme wisdom and authority of God and to the Divine in your soul. Step into the void with courage. Learn to say, I don't know. That's not blind faith. It's pure faith that will allow God and your spirit to lead you wherever your soul wants and needs to go.

Melody Beattie, "Finding Your Way Home"

2)

Your body is free but your heart is in prison. To release your heart, you simply reverse the process which locked it up. First you begin to listen for messages from your heart—messages you may have been ignoring since childhood. Next you must take the daring, risky step of expressing your heart in the outside world. . . . As you learn to live by heart, every choice you make will become another way of telling your story. . . . It is the way you were meant to exist. If you stop to listen, you’ll realize that your heart has been telling you so all along.
Martha Beck in "Finding Your Own North Star"

Don't wait for some magic gift. Share what you are, dare to be vulnerable, and you will find people who count you among their deepest friends
"Let God Love You"

I just wanted to tell everyone and anyone who reads this......

Live your life to the fullest.....if something isnt going your way, dont give up.....let life take its course, but always keep trying to make it better......because if you dont try you wont succeed......and just remember that you will succeed if you put your mind to it......you have to want it in order to get it......
