My kids are tv kids. We could never afford a lot of the 'good stuff' to do and living in rental properties anything messy is out of the question.
Matthew would never swim either, if it's a chest issue maybe get one of those male swim suit/wetsuit type things to wear.
Sam if you want to pm me, we had awful bedroom probs after chloe was born, how I conceived ella is beyond me!

I never had the tv on during day once elliot got to 3-4 months as it distracted both of us from playing. Now he is allowed 20 mins before bed unless we end up stuck home all day in which case it's on for maybe an hour during day just when I know stuff he likes is on. Most programmes he hasn't seen yet though. I usually have music on in the background instead.

Mand it's more complicated than I can explain. It just got overwhelming now it's fine. Xxx

Sam, what do you do with him? Or rather.. what did you do with him when he was just a few months old?

Oliver loves the tv, we watch cartoons and theres an actual baby tv channel and nature documentaries.. mostly ones about the sea cos he likes looking at them.

I guess it doesnt help that we have no real outside space of our own otherwise i would play in the garden, i do take him out every day though for a good 3/4 hours, and we play a lot, he just gets bored easily.

I usually played with toys with him on his play mat. Plus from 4 months he liked to practice sitting up which made playing so much easier. I used to put music on and dance about with him, he liked to chew things so anything he could put in his mouth he was happy with. Also liked his bouncy door thing and generally anything that involved being upright. Oh he also loved wind chimes (still does) so we used to bash One of those a lot. He also loves to read so we spend hours reading and have done since he could sit up on me. Our high chair also was suitable from 3 months so he could play easier in that.

He also loved baby Einstein videos on YouTube. Which I know is like tv but a bit more controlled.

One of his favourite toys was and still is a ball that has a pop up star with a blur rabbit underneath. Think it's v tech. He's obsessed as it lights up and makes music. That was fab for tummy time.

i think Jasmine prefers the foster carers.

yesterday, i barely got a dsmile form her.
soon a s the carer came to take her, she stopped crying and smiled and laughed.

that hurt

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Jasmine can sense stress hun. Perhaps thats why she was upset. Can you have contact increased at all if your concerns are voiced?

i cant have any more contact than i do. i already get an unusually long amount of contact and i am apparently very, very lucky to get 3 hours.

i try not to be stressed around her.
she seemed a bit ill on friday, she was coughing, wouldnt stop pooing i think she was beginning to get a temperature. the 'carer' said that she didnt want to have the formula (but was fine when i breast fed her) she has a really bad nappy rash, its all raised and red.
i hate that i cant be there to make her better.

3 years? wow. I can remember both of them being born.. that makes me feel old.

Debbie.. Are things any better for you?

We've just got back from a week in Scotland, Oliver met a load of his extended family who all think he is lovely.

Stuarts parents had him for a whole night so we could go out and stuff. It was lovely.
He did ever so well on the plane and on the boat. He didnt seem affected by it at all, just a bit grumpy the day after travelling up there, but then, we had had a 4.30am start and then a plane that was delayed by 2 and a bit hours followed by a 6 hour ferry.

Hes got a cold now so hes all red faced and dribbly.

Oh, and he has started doing proper person giggles. Its so cute!

sorry, it's me again under a different username again!
basically, i had someone change my password on this account so i couldn't post on RYL, but then i couldn't ask her to change it back because my phone broke and i'm not on facebook, so i made a new account to use until i got a temporary phone.

glad you had a good time Charlie, and got a night off!

Debbie, i can relate to the feeling of 'i shouldn't be feeling like this', but try not to think about how other people's lives are 'worse', the fact is, you are not feeling great, and you need support, it's healthy to be a little bit selfish sometimes.

maybe it's worth talking to someone about, sometimes, even just talking can do wonders, have you got anyone you could talk to? professional or otherwise?
xx

How are you feeling Debbie?
Im definitely going down a road i don't want to be and also feel guilty. As a mum its feels like we aren't allowed to be down and struggling but unfortunately it does happen and is very common. I try to keep positive but at the minute it is so hard. Id love to just run away some days and hide away.
