Whats the point

I was referred by Gp to my local talking therapy service as a way of dealing with my depression and self harm. But after my initial assessment they have told me that because of my self harm they won't offer me any treatment or support. I don't know what to do now. I have been trying really hard not to self harm but i wonder now if there is any point. I'm really struggling with the urges now.

I'd go back to your GP. Maybe they can refer you to the CMHT instead?

It does sound very frustrating, and I can empathise.

Thankyou. I have been referred to the CMHT. I had a phone call from a mental health nurse and i'm waiting for an appointment. It's all a bit too real now.

I'm glad things are starting to be put in place for you. I know it's scary to face up to things like this but I hope you can get some useful support. You can do this.
