What have you achieved/what are you proud of in 2020
Okay, so 2020 has been a year like no other. We have spent almost an entire year coping with a global pandemic and to everyone reading this thread I want to say, I am so bloody proud of you. I know it's not been easy and it's still a difficult and unpredictable time.
I thought it might be nice to acknowledge the things we have achieved in spite of the pandemic, things we're proud of or just someone that made you smile.
Achievements don't have to be major things, for a lot of us getting through each day in one piece is a massive achievement and deserves to be congratulated.
So yeah, share your wins and don't forget to congratulation others on theirs!

For me
Achievements
- I published over 100 poems for the website I work for this year
- I published a poetry book
- I started my own small business
- I managed to stay alive
- When social services got involved due my declining mental health, I worked with them despite it being scary and stressful and now the case is closed and our SW even wrote what good parents we were in the last letter she sent us
- Actually starting to investigate my health problems instead of ignoring them and hoping they go away
Things that made me smile:
- Meeting my best friends new baby
- Watching my little boy grow and develop
- Discovering Hamilton
|
Let us go then you and I, when the evening is spread out against the sky, like a patient etherized upon a table
- T.S. Elliot

I have a 2:2 in one of modules for my degree course.
I have managed 6 months without any hospitalisations
I have started drinking more fluids, it’s still a problem when I’m stressed and overwhelmed but I am getting there slowly.
I have managed a few weeks without going into dream like state.
|
Have you ever confused a dream with life? Or stolen something when you have the cash? Have you ever been blue? Or thought your train moving while sitting still? Maybe I was just crazy. Maybe it was the 60's. Or maybe I was just a girl... interrupted.
I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside. I tried groups, didn't work out just made my depression a lot worse.

Well done, yoyo. That's some really good stuff to be proud of there.
Luna, I'm very impressed with all your achievements! Amazing work, well done.
I'm finding this hard to answer. I suppose my biggest achievement was surviving (and managing to enjoy most of) the 2 week trip to the USA for my sister's wedding. Seems like it was an awful long time ago now though.
I'm also proud of every single person here. Like Luna said, getting through each day especially in a year like this one, is no small feat.

Well done to everyone, great achievements!
I guess my only achievement this year was getting a new job.

Well done everyone, reading the things you've achieved really made me smile. You're all amazing.
I finished my course, qualified and started work as a social worker.
I was discharged from mental health services early in the year and remained stable and haven't needed any formal support.
I moved to a new city and attempted to start building a life here although it's been a weird time to do that!
I finally passed my driving test.
I got engaged, which isn't exactly an achievement but was the best thing to happen to me this year!
I survived this absolute shitshow of a year and I'm doing okay.

It'll get better. Until then, have a day."
