Gay friends?

This may seem weird but I'm the only lesbian I know... Anyone else on here I could get to know and relate to? I really just need some friends.

I don't know, gay people on RYL? Doesn't seem likely.

I know there are gay people on here... I was just meaning anything that would be willing to get to know me.

They were being sarcastic; there's lots of LGBT members here. I'm sure someone will come and chat to you soon. :)

I'm transsexual and homoromantic and most of my friends are LGBT. Have you considered going to a LGBT group in your area? I don't know how old you are but lots of places have LGBT youth groups if you are under 25.

I have thought about it but going to one would be quite difficult with my mom not being supportive.

What about the Rainbow room thread? (that was the name, right?) Isn't that still around? I'll go and hunt it out.

I could try it although she would find it suspicious. She's kind of controlling.

With regards to youth groups that are LGBT a lot are very very sensitive and helpful to people whose parents aren't supportive/don't know about their sexuality. You can pm me if you want (I'm gay) might not always be able to reply but will do my best :)

Also could you possibly try and see the youth leader of your local LGBT group and ask about confidentiality issues? If not just go to Connexions or something and tell your mum you're going for career advice then ask them about sexuality help services.

I only have one gay friend as well. Saying that there's not really much of a gay community here.

Yeah LGBT youth groups can be very discrete about the fact they are LGBT, for example the LGBT youth group I go to for forms for trips they don't put their name on it for anyone who isn't out. Feel free to message me if you want.

G-A-Y possibly? Probably not. Too obvious.
Gays on RYL? Really? What?!

Anyway, yeah LGBT groups can be pretty discreet if they need to be. Maybe have a look at QYN (queer youth network) as I know they have meets up and down the country (I am a member) and stuff maybe?
