As the title reads, I am off to London soon and need ideas of nice places to shop, eat, visit, etc.
Me and my boyfriend aren't touristy at all so suggestions of going to visit Number 10, or Big Ben, or the palace are a no no.
We already have some ideas, such as museums, and of course shops. But we need some more suggestions.
This SHOULD and COULD go in reviews and recommendations but I thought it would suit better here.
So please, throw suggestions. ^_^ I've never been to London before and we're only there for three days (one evening being taken up by a musical, and a day being taken up with Hyper Japan).
I live in London and have still never visited the typical touristy places!
It depends what type of person you are, but I love Camden market. It's quite alternative- lots of cool/crazy/quirky shops and market stools, plenty of yummy food and a pretty lock to sit and eat at.

Yeah I have Camden market down as somewhere I'd like to go. ^_^ I remember when I was in uni one of my classmates was from London and due to how I was all gothic and emo she said I'd love Camden market... But that was back in 2008, so I'm sure it's changed since then. xD
Camden isn't very alternative any more, it mostly caters to tourists these days. But Cyberdog is always worth a visit in the stables.
If you're into exhibitions that are a bit quirky/interesting/medical then check out the Wellcome Collection in Euston. It's free to get in and one of their current exhibitions is called Sexology. They have a fantastic shop/cafe area and also a reading room that looks amazing but I've never been in.
In a similar vein is the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons. Lots of medical oddities.
If you like TV and comic book stuff then check out Forbidden Planet.
There's Lady Dinah's cat cafe if you can book a space for when you want to go!

Go to some West End shows if you like theatre. I used to go there for musicals a lot. If you wouldn't normally, maybe do it for a different night out. Of course you may not be into it at all, in which case just ignore this suggestion, but there are usually some good shows on there. Have fun anyway!!
It's funny you mention theatre as we're going to watch Book of Mormon the first night we're there! We're pretty excited as we love Matt Stone and Trey Parker and everyone we know does too and has said how great the musical is. ^_^
Great suggestions so far! Boy loves anything crime related so it's a shame that exhibition has closed now. :(
Oh no! It was really good.
How about the Natural History Museam (because dinosaurs and free) and the Science Museam? There are loads of awesome things to do at both of those. I reccomend the Darwin thingy at the Natural History Museam. It's cool.
Then there is stuff like the Cabinet War Rooms and the Imperial War Museam if you like stuff like that.
I also found this LIST that has a mixture of free places and ones that cost money.
Have fun doing whatever you choose though!

I've heard great things about the Alexander McQueen exhibition (I think you are into fashion).
If it's sunny I love walking down the south bank you can start at varying points and just walk!
Also what about getting a boat down the Thames? You can get the Clipper or go down to say Kew

My brother has been raving about the fast boats you can get down the river and the emirates cable cars. I think he said it's on the tube network so you can use your oyster towards it and only need to pay an additional few quid or something.

Not really got many suggestions, other than simply taking a walk around, especially through the parks. However, I have seen The Book of Mormon twice and loved it; highly offensive, but so damn funny.
