***(low cal) serving packs, helpful or harmful?

I dont know if its the same in UK, but here lots of common snack foods (chips, cookies, cupcakes, trail mix) are coming in packs that have 8-10 smaller ***cal packs instead of one big bag with however many servings that you would need to measure out yourself.

these small packs do help me avoid mindless binging since I'd have to open several packs instead of just one, but at the same time, since its a perfect even number of cals it pulls me toward restricting. like "well, i just had xcals, thats about a quarter/half/whatever percentage of my 'limit', lets see if i can keep it this low" whereas with the other packs i will tend to either mindlessly eat the whole bag, or if in restrict mode already, round up a little on how many cals i had, and then since i know ive rounded up i sort of feel like i have leway to go ahead and have that extra apple or whatever.

so basically, im wondering if any of you find these mini packs helpful or not, and how do I keep myself from allowing the numbers to take control once I do partake of these lil treats?
sorry if im not making sense... im not quite me today

When I was anorexic I found them unhelpful but when I'm struggling with bulimia I find them helpful, if that makes sense.

I found them slightly helpful...slightly harmful. Helpful in that I knew how many calories I was eating and since I knew it was not a lot, it felt safer to eat them. But harmful because it would trigger me to count calories and only stick to very low calorie foods.

Hope you are okay hun. Take care.

I think they definitley help me,, in terms of binging. With a big bag,, after a few,, I'd think well Ive ruined it all now so what's the point,, and go into binge mode.
Whereas with the little ones I think 'well I wish I hadn't ate that but it is just X amount of calories.'
So they do prevent binging but don't really help restricting.

Take care,,

I think these would help me,, I don't binge,, but I restrict, but I don't count calories normally. So maybe if I knew it was just a small amount,, I don't know

skfnsdjgbdfg everything is too confusing!
