She can still 'not care' but do her job well enough to support you. I don't believe she doesn't care but I know it can feel that way.

This is them protecting you from yourself. If they cannot guarantee or even have the most up to date communications from you to assess your safety, they will put more restrictions on you.

I know that's not easy on you, but it's in the interest of all to keep you safe.

What would you say if your best friend had attempted to take their own life last time they were allowed out alone. And wasnt talking to staff. I'm sure youd be worried for your friends safety. And km sure youd agree with the decision to revoke their leave until they can demonstrate they will keep themself safe. To keep them alive.

I'm just wondering, do you have any sort of learning disability or developmental disability that can make it difficult for you to process information? I don't mean this negatively - it's just it seems like it is really difficult for you both in person and on here to make sense of things - and if either we knew that, or the people irl knew that, maybe they could work on trying to frame what is going on in ways that helps you better understand.

I understand how it must feel like a punishment but I don't think it is. From what you have said it was a significant incident when you were last on leave. To allow you out on leave they must have assessed you have not being a risk and evidently that was incorrect. Can you understand that they may now be more cautious in assessing your risk?
You spoke earlier about wanting them to keep you safe, this is their way of doing that. I know it must be frustrating but shutting yourself away from the staff there is going to make it hard for them to make assessments on your risks and whilst that is the case it is understable that they will err on the side of caution.

If it was a friend in this situation, what would you suggest they did next?

Have you discussed your feelings about this with any of the staff?

It's likely that refusal to engage with the support offered is seen as a sign that you are getting more depressed and isolating yourself.

Add that to not having the latest data to go on from the psychologist, they have to take the apparent risk as they see it seriously and do everything they can to ensure your safety.

It's not a punishment, but it is a consequence of the reduced communication.

Focusing on what you're not getting and what you don't have doesn't seem to be helping you move forward. It seems to be keeping you stuck.

What steps can you take to work on moving forward, instead of focusing on what you don't have or killing yourself?

How have things been over the past couple of days? Did you have your review today?

I'm not feeling great but thanks for asking. I had my review which went well apart from the fact I won't be discharged before Christmas. So I'm pretty upset about that. They've upped my Pregabalin and Mirtazapine so I'm really hoping that will help. They want me to try and work things out with the psychologist so I can have CBT but I really don't want to.

What's the barrier that is stopping you from wanting to engage? At the end of the day the psychologist and CBT are tools that you can use to help yourself get better and out of there sooner.

Maybe it's worth viewing it that way?

Could you challenge yourself to just take what you can from sessions, and view it as a means to an end, take the emotional/ relationship/ attachments out of it and just use her expertise to help you?
