I like walking along the South Bank between Westminster and the Tate Modern/Globe Theatre. It's next to the river, lots of boats to look at, can be quite busy though. There's also a cool skate park along there somewhere and an outdoor secondhand book sale area.

Parks in the south west - Richmond Park and, although not exactly a park, Kew Gardens!

I'll be living more or less next to Richmond Park.
Is it as huge as it looks on the map?????
I've seen some pictures and it looks like a great place to go for walks/runs/just hanging out.

Yes, it's huge. If you run, be prepared to stop periodically to take pictures of deer and rabbits!

^That sounds like a much better source of fun animals than the alleged nature reserve I visited last week- all I saw was two butterflies, untamed masses of weeds and lots of broken glass/traces of impromptu fires; evidence of the prevalent wildlife- the Common Local Yob :P

We may not see eye to eye, but we can respect each other's opinions and find the truth in them.
Perhaps in those honest conversations, instead of demonising each other,
we might see each other as imperfect humans, doing our best. ~ Jodi Picoult

I've never actually been to Richmond Park, I always go straight past it to Kew! I hear good things about Isabella Plantation though.

Don't forget the colourful parakeet wildlife in the park too. =P

If you're willing to travel outside of London a little way and enjoy parks then I would highly recommend a trip to Windsor Great Park (THE best royal park but I may be biased because I work there). Windsor's only 30 mins ish on the train from Richmond.

To be a Londoner, you must learn to hate tourists. They stop in the middle of the path to take pictures and don't know to get their Oyster cards out before the barrier, and although we've all done these things ourselves in other countries, when people do it in London we must hate them with the force of Hellfire and tut as we walk around them, and them complain to the people we are going to meet.

Not doing that is just common decency, doesn't matter if you're a tourist or not, don't be a ****.

I already hate tourists, even when I am one myself.
So sounds like I am doing reasonably well so far.

Only ten weeks or so to go!!!!!
I shall certainly die from anxiety before I even get into the country. :S

I am genuinely so excited that you're moving here!!!

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Moving to another country is bound to be anxiety provoking. But you have so many people here that love you to help you settle in :)

I think I definitely have more friends in England than here.
Guess I am more lovable online :P

It is helpful to know that there's people I can ask about practical things that I don't understand or know how to do!

There's just so much **** to do before I move.
I need to start selling all my stuff, but that has to wait until my ex finally finds a new place so I know if he's keeping any of the furniture etc.

How exciting your coming to England! (and only a 30-40 min drive from us!)

Also, you haven't been to Richmond park unless you've yelled "JESUS CHRIST, FENTON!" across a field.

A parakeet is a bird, a tiny parrot type bird! They're colourful and cute ☺️
