A great resolution. Keep your hands occupied doing good.
One exercise I had to do with someone (a guy) when in a counselling
class was to study my hands and meditate on them, and
answer questions like: what are the worst things you've ever
done with your hands? the best? etc etc. Then do various things with my hands, with and without the other person involved such as clasping them in prayer, clapping, holding hands, etc etc.
Then the guy who was also a counselling student took my hands in his and prayed for them, that they would serve others, do good and move at the impulse of God's love. It was kind of strange, but very healing to have hands that were blessed. If you are a person of faith, maybe you could trust someone to hold your hands and bless them, asking God to empower them to move only to help, and not to hurt.
There is also a song about Daddys Hands which a friend had played at his funeral which was lovely. If you are artistic, you could draw hands which do not cut you, or write a poem about them, etc.
All the best!!
