It really depends how you view self harm. Whether it's something that's to be recovered from, or something you can quit.
To me it's like smoking - I can say, yeah, I used to smoke. I don't any more. I am not a smoker. So I can also say - I used to hurt myself. I don't any more. I am not a self harmer.
I guess it's all how you take it and use it. I haven't done it for a while, but I know I will do it again and some point in the future. In that respect, I have nothing to 'recover' from. I don't believe it's an illness, or a condition. It's purely something I do.
