rehousing a cat

My parents have a beautiful, black, healthy, 6 year old cat. They are moving to new zeland in a couple of months and can't take the cat with them. They don't want to put her in a refuge. They would prefer a good home.

We have placed adds online and on facebook but no one has replied.

Does anyone know any good ways of rehousing animals?

On a side note if anyone on here is interested in giving her a home just pm me.

What about putting an advert in local pet shops and cattery places (think its a cattery? like kennels but for cats). Newspaper? Cats protection do a scheme I think.

Watch out for putting a cat online, especially for free as there are people who will take the cat and use it for dog bait. Go through somewhere like cat protection or google rehoming schemes online.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.

At my vet, you can put up a note with information and stuff. Also if you have a dog that had puppies and you need a home for them. That way you get people who have an interest in animals. Id recommend that.

We have been looking for a home for her for 10 months now and it's only 2 months till my parent leave. It's not something we are just rushing into.
