edges of psychosis

I can feel it creeping in again around the edges of my mind, the delusions, the obsession, the darkness, the fears.

And I am scared.

I already take an anti-psychotic, but am due to change this, all being well. Though because of side effects.

But. But. I don't know what to do. I feel so helpless in the face of that shadow in my mind/around my mind.

Whenever I fear it's coming back, I write a list of things that are different now, in a supportive way. Do you think that might be helpful for you? Are there any things you can do to turn your mind towards the light?

You wrote in your last thread about lots of stressful things going on. Sometimes, when there's too much stress, it can cause the scary psychosis symptoms. It might be worth reminding yourself that that's what's going on, and that things will get better.

Keep talking to your treatment team.

Thanks.
I could give that a try, yes.
I have writing group this morning, and writing is something I can do.

Yes, there is too much stress....

I haven't had any support for the past 2 weeks, but I see my therapist again on Monday, and GP on Thursday, next week.

This might not make much sense, but I find the more I worry about something negative happening, the more likely it is to get worse. For example if I am panicking and I focus on the fact that I am panicking, the more likely I am to panic even more.

It's hard to do and a bit nuanced, but if you can accept that maybe things are off kilter a bit and just taking it as things are for the moment, that can take a bit of pressure and stress off. I hope you can see your therapist and GP and they help you with things too.

Do you have any nice plans for Sunday?

You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.

Thanks. :)
That's kind of what I've been partly trying to do...thanks for explaining it so well. I'll try and focus on it more and see how that goes.

I came back from my parents' after lunch and the weekend there.
