good article matthew.
i feel the same as everyone here, when i talk to my psychologist i just think i'm too old to still be doing this, i'm such a freak.
but now i know we're all freaks together! :p

I'm only 16 but stumbled across this thread. I have to admit I actually find the Vets quite intimidating but thats because I think your so strong to be honest simply because your still fighting it and haven't resigned to a life of self harm. For me, it makes me feel as though there are people out there who do understand rather than the psychologists and counsellors that don't really understand. Personally I think your the ones with the most experience and the ones to look up to. Just my thoughts!

Thank you Soph.

Erin and Matthew, please sticky it.

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Regarding Stickying. The post was actually meant to be posted on the general part of the site as its aimed at the younger members. Its also only part of a longer piece that went on to waffle rather alot. Its also a little dated as the troubles have ceased and such.

But im glad you liked it. Thank you :)

Maybe you could make an updated one? You make some amazing and accurate points about what being a vet is like. I would love to have a vets synopsis around. And it's probably not that dated as Im sure alot of people still feel the same about us ie cliquey. *nods*

Hmm agree very well done Matthew!

Hope this isn't going too far off track but wouldn't it have been nice if we'd had these facilities twenty years ago! If only we had the technology and the understanding available that the younger teenagers have now then it could have been oh so different but hey we do have it now so onwards not back.
