Living Things - Linkin Park

What do you think of Linkin Park's new album? It takes me ages to form opinions but I think I like the album.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

I like it. I only downloaded a couple of the songs though as I didn't like all of them. I think my favourite is burn it down or I'll be gone :)

I'm keeping an eye out for tour dates too. Can I tag along with you if they do, Caz?

I like it, I used to massively love Linkin Park, but then Thousand Suns came out...
But Living Things is more like their older stuff, which I'm glad of.

I agree, although Thousand Suns was pretty awful, so that's not much of a standard. Chester's style has changed too much, and the only songs I like are the ones with Mike. I really think he should have left the band after Minutes to Midnight. Just listen to We Major and The Rising Tied. Mike is better off without the rest of Linkin Park. On an optimistic note, Chester was pretty good in "Burn it Down", so maybe they will get back to making music the way they used to. Unfortunately, bad music sells really well, so they may continue this new style as long as it makes them money.

You are more than the choices that you've made.
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes.
You are more than the problems you create.
You've been remade!

I dont like it,I think the rapping is awful and the lyrics arent as meaningful as they were in their earlier songs. Plus the guitars just sound so overly manufactured....disappointed, I used to love LP.x

^ admittedly I would take out the rapping if I could

I can see how people don't like, it is very different if you really liked their old stuff
I think I've moved tastes a bit at the same time they have so I still really like it :] But it is different to their first few albums.

^^ Totally get that. I feel that I'm growing/moving with them rather than against them.

I love Linkin Park. I like pretty much all of their music, but in this new album I couldn't help but feel that a few of the songs already sounded dated. :/
