Painting poetry with pastel lies,
Fact versus fiction versus vacant cries,
Create it to destroy it, heal it, kill it,
Wait, wait for me, for my heart to quit,
I'd write a list of apologies if it didn't hurt so much,
Pain, hate, scars, drown, bleed, touch,
Those fingertips still burn my skin,
I want to lose, I don't want to win,
I want to leave, I want to stay,
But I don't seem to be able to find a way,
Torn in between, stuck, left drifting,
Pessimism, optimism, pessimism, switching,
No answers to your rhetorical questions,
We're stuck between rehearsals and re-runs,
Impossible memories and impossible smiles,
I'll try, I'll try for a while, just a while,
But I'm scared, okay? I don't know what to do,
So please, hold me tight, hold me close, won't you?
