So, I used to have AVG but when I dutifully updated it to version 9 it totally screwed up my computer, so after a lot of stress and swearing i now have avast.

I have vista, and yes, i know it sucks, but i'm not in a position to change it.

anyway, i don't have any actual problems with avast, but coming from avg it seems quite hard to understand, is there anything in particular i have to do or will it just run automatically in the background?

currently it says "7 providers, 6 running" - the one not running is outlook/exchange, which says it is waiting ffor a subsystem to start. should i be worried about this or is it not neccessary?
