The reason a lot of big winners struggle financially is because they believe this is true. They convince themselves they'll never have to worry about money again and they spend it so quickly and so recklessly that they're left with a lot of stuff they can't afford and absolutely no money left. In many cases it only takes a few months for them to reach that point and file for bankruptcy. A lot of winners were better off before they won, even if they were struggling beforehand, because the only thing that really changed for them was that their bills got a lot bigger and their struggles got harder accordingly.
