It depends some on how much the wound is seeping. Twice a day is fine, once a day is fine also after the wound is about a week old. You should also always change the dressing as soon as possible if it gets wet or dirty.
If you saw the doctor for this wound they should have given you specific instructions on how to dress it and change it.
