Hobbies/interests

It's been pointed out that I don't have any hobbies or interests.

How do I develop some?

I'm hoping when I have a job (interview soon) I'll have more interest in doing things.

But what can I do?

I don't even know what I'm interested in.

What about photography? You could take plenty of photos of your gorgeous cat. Maybe even start a blog.
Or writing? That's something I've been doing to combine with my art.

I think by trying stuff you find what you enjoy doing.
Have a look what stuff you can join in with in the community and see if anything sounds interesting.

Was there anything you enjoyed doing as a child or teenager?
Is there anything you've always wanted to try and haven't for whatever reason?

I tried out loads of things to find my hobbies.

There are things I enjoy sometimes and things that I factor into my life each week (Also serves as coping mechanism)

So I try to climb, run or exercise a few times a week. This consumes enough of my time to be my most permanent hobby. To get to that point I tried swimming and I've tried dance and classes in the gym and going the gym until I found what I enjoy.

Then more relaxing stuff I tried learning an instrument and just a whole bunch of things. It's taken a few years but I feel quite settled. Just try things. Knitting, colouring, crafting, yoga, gaming, anything goes.

Just be sure it's accessible and affordable for your budget etc.

Maybe make a list of a bunch of stuff you're interested in and start trying stuff out to see how much you enjoy them.

I'm in a similar situation and not quite sure what to do with myself. I have set my self the challenge of doing two things a week whilst I try and figure it out. I don't have any friends so I am making one of the activities social based and for the other I am looking at what sports I could join and skills I fancy leaning.

I am hiding it difficult to be patient and not to expect to fall in love with a new hobby straight away. Not sure if this is a good approach as it is all still new to me but thought I would share anyway!

From what I've seen, you do have hobbies - fitness, cooking, animals (your rats and your kitten!) so that's plenty of things right there.

Is there anything you've always admired someone else for doing, or wished you could do? That might give you a starting point for picking up new activities.

I tried a bunch of things in order to find things I like to do. Things like drawing (I suck, but I like it), painting (I sort of suck but it's fun), knitting (I do NOT suck), and other stuff.

I go to exercise classes for fun.

Reading, exercise to stay fit and healthy, traveling, hang out with family and friends

Maybe picking up some none-fiction books on subjects you are particularly interested in and then sort of studying them highlighting n making notes, increasing your knowledge on each subject.

That doesn't strike me as accurate. Games, acting, fiction writing are some things that come to mind. Recently you seem legit interested in fitness. You're also interested in news, politics etc. If I think of people with no interests or hobbies I don't even remotely consider you. If you weren't busy attending to health issues, I imagine you would be even more active, focused etc

Thanks all. I guess I have interests, I just haven't made any of them into hobbies. I'm going to get my camera next time I go back to my place and start taking more pictures. I used to love photography but it sort of fell away when I was ill.

Books on different topics could be useful. I'll go and check the nonfiction section of my local library and see what I can find.

Jack, yes I have become interested in fitness. I do see that it could be counted as a hobby so I will count that too.

I'm moving house in June so I'm going to see if there's a community centre that does like gardening and stuff because I'm interested in growing my own food.

Get a bike and take camera with you. That's what I did. You see a lot of things on a bike you that you miss in a car. Plus biking is good for knees

I found that when i was looking for hobbies it started off with reading news articles online and watching the news/entertainment and then starting writing about it on my blog and then that's how the blogging started. I then began to read more and this lead to getting into beauty, fashion etc. I then found myself where I would plan in advance blog posts, looking at content, spellings, pictures and then this lead to social media. When my blog was finally getting hits online, it then sparked new interests such as technology/gadgets and i started adding fun things and gifs/pictures to other bloggers. I would even look into the possibility of further my blog on to youtube, domain hosting etc. Quite exciting and addictive. :)
