RIP The Tyburn pub!

So I have come to central London to shop and as I got off the pub I realised to my great dismay that the Tyburn aka spoons via Marble Arch is no more!

I have a great many RYL memories associated with it so a sad day indeed!

Whaaat?! Where are we going to hold the London meets now?!
Guess we'll have to move into the Costa at kings cross.

Ah man, I'll miss this place, had so many awesome meets there. Surprising when a big chain closes down, especially as we'd stake it out for 13 hours at a time! It was always packed

talaiporia 28-08-2016 03:34 PM

I know. It was so sudden - closed in may along with sainsburys, odeon. There's going to be a big new development.

Oh no!! I loved that place. So many happy times. Le woe.

I'm sure with time and counselling you'll work through it :P

I got so drunk in that pub so many times. I never planned to go back there. Drinking in my dining room is where it is at.

Surprisingly throughout all my time on RYL and the meets I went to I never went there! But I have been to a fair few Starbucks and Costas in London as well as parks for meets.

So many good memories there! It will be sorely missed! RIP.

random.swirls 30-08-2016 10:51 PM

Yeah the whole thing is becoming luxury flats overlooking Hyde Park!

I enjoyed it as a meet venue as it was versatile! If sunny Hyde Park if rainy spoons but alas this no more!

Am I the only one who thought it was dingy and dark? :P

Pi.R^2 11-09-2016 09:49 PM

Yes. Do not speak ill of the dead!

Leo Pard 19-09-2016 09:45 PM

Lameo. We used to get drunk there all the time back in the day. Granted that was like almost 10 years ago now...

That's what people used to say about RYL 1.0
