One thing that might help is standing and looking in a mirror when you say the names so you can see if it feels right with you. See if it matches your face (or if you feel it does) and try to see if it's a name you would feel comfortable with forever. Tbh, the name I chose was the first I'd thought properly about years before I came out so for me I knew it was right. Let us know how it turns out.

This is often the first major step in transition so it's exciting times :D

One thing to consider is the popularity of each name for the year of your birth. I don't think its so much the case with the names above, but sometimes the temptation is to choose a name that is trendy right now, which can seem anachronistic compared with names of your generation.

I know I might be in the minority here, but to me choosing a name you are going to have for life should be a personal decision. Don't get me wrong, I totally get asking for opinions, but at the end of the day it has to be something you are happy with and aren't going to regret a few years down the line.

That said, what do you think of the name Paige and the name Nixxi?

Don't be afraid to try a couple out for a day or whatever. Also, you can always change again if it doesn't suit you. When I chose mine, I wanted to keep certain aspects of my birthname so that narrowed it down, I looked at loads of baby names sites and finally chose based on that. You have to be happy with it so don't be afraid to take your time over it. :]

I second what other people have said. Choosing a name is a tough decision. It's something that's going to define you and you're going to be stuck with it for a long, long time. I'm a writer and I've been considering a pen name for a couple months because my current name holds too many expectations and labels that end up to be conflicting/restrictive with some of the genres I write. However, picking a new name for myself has been so incredibly daunting because I want it to be something I like and not feel as if I want to shrug out of an itchy sweater after a few days because it just isn't right.

Try each name on for like a week, try thinking of yourself as Paige or Jessica or Tiffany or any of those names. Try signing your name as one of those names. Put each name on and give it time to settle and if it doesn't feel quite right, keep looking.
