How Do I Delete or Lock My Account?
 

Hi,

I can't quite figure out where to put this on the board as I couldn't see a Board Support section.

I would like to close and delete my account for RYL please, but I am unsure as to how I would go about doing so?

Would anyone be able to help point me in the right direction at all please?

In general, such threads are generally found in Forum and Community Questions

I believe mods can delete accounts, but prefer not to do so. The best way to 'delete' your account is to delete all your posts and change your username, if it's anonymity you're looking for. If it's more a case of wanting to make the account inaccessible to you, then you can change your password to random letters (typed without looking), so that you can't access it any more.

Sounds stupid, but how do I delete all my posts...I'm having issues.

If you go to you profile and click on 'view all posts by...' then you can go to each, click edit then select delete.

I am sorry to hear that you are leaving been as you have been here less than a year. If RYL has been not so supportive for you, then that's unfortunate, because the majority of people find RYL supportive.

Yep Ryl doesn't generally delete active accounts but we can change people's passwords and usernames.

We re thinking about guidance around this which will be issued in due course but we won't delete active accounts.
