If the scars are on your arms, you can try wristbands, bracelets, sweatbands, hair bobbles etc, to hide the scars on your hips just wear long tops or hoodies. I hope that helped a bit.

Hi *waves*

I don't really have much advice on getting rid of scars, nothing really works for me but there are lots of people on here who have had some success with BioOil and various other products. As for hiding them, depends on where they are but if it's wrists/arms then I used to just wear lots of bracelets or decorative sweat bands.

BUT that aside, do you know why you self-harm? Have you spoken to a Dr, or counsellor about it? It's good that you have one friend who is supportive, could you try and increase your support network so you have people to turn to when you feel the urge, rather than continue cutting?

Sending hugs x

I used to wear thin long sleaved cotton kameez tops to cover my arms and wrists during the summer, these can easily be bought from asian clothes shop. And as they are made for muslims the sleeves are usually really long for modesty. They are mainly for girls tho - you didnt say if you were a guy or girl.

Scars are difficult. There are many things you could try, mederma, vitamin e oil, bio oil. There are shirts specifically made for summer with long sleeves for sun protection that are very light weight and breathable. You can find those online and at sporting stores. Long or oversized shirts could help with the ones on your hips. I hope you find something that works for you. And talking to somebody about why you SH may help you more as well. Take care and be strong.
