Medical question, but not exactly fitting for first aid catagory GIRLS ONLY.

Im not sure where I should put this so I just kinda put it here if its wrong help by moving it.

If you have low progesterone does that automatically make you more eligible to miscarry? Cause i have such low progesterone I can start my period with being on supplements or the pill. I am very concerned because my grandma and great grandma miscarried multiple times because of this. I know im worrying about this before im ever gonna have kids, but I guess I kinda just wanna know about it more. Help please?<3

Hi,
How do u know that u have low progesterone??
How do u know that ur low progesterone is the reason y u cant start ur periods without supplements or the pill??
If u dont mind me asking u these questions

If ur pregnant & have low progesterone ur doctor will give u
supplemental progesterone for the first weeks and months of your pregnancy. You'll likely take the supplemental hormone in the form of a pill, though it's also possible to receive hormone injections. Typically, by the fourth month of pregnancy, low progesterone is no longer an issue

My gynocoligist told me that is the reason i dont have periods. She put me on a supplement and they become very regular.
Thanks for answering.

Your gynaecologist is the best one to ask as she knows your situation in most detail.

Once you become pregnant, part of what was making the egg becomes something called a corpus luteum which produces progesterone. This carries on for about 12 weeks until the placenta is big enough to take over. So I would imagine that once you conceive, the corpus luteum should be able to maintain your pregnancy like anyone else.

However, this may depend on why you have low progesterone in the first place, becuase it's also possible that the part of your cycle which prepares your uterus for an embryo to implant isn't working sufficiently. So it's best to consult your doctor who will know more detail specific to you.

I know it's probably frustrating to hear that we can't give you a more specific answer.
