If you had to change your name...

what would it be?

I quite like the name Robyn :tongue2:

If I was a guy I'd choose Marley or Jacob...although I'm planning to call my dog Marley :eyeroll:

So yeah, what name would you pick?

I wouldn't really change it as I rather like my name but probably to Ellen after my Gran, but it's one of my middle names anyway.

Stellata 31-08-2012 12:37 PM

It's hard when you've been a teacher, as I have.. one's met too many names and too many names have too many connotations!
Plus, having Katherine as my official name on everything, then also with my parents, and Katie everywhere else... it's confusing enough! I always say at work that I'll confuse everyone [name badge bods, IT department...etc] by changing back to Katherine. Ahah!

I quite like Susan.
But if I could change any part of my name it would be my middle name. It's connected with the most depressing book imaginable! Katherine Susan ... would be cool.

Rosemarie Zazou.
I don't like my real name, that's why I use 'Marie' on the internet. I really like that one. I would extend it to 'Rosemarie' because my gran is called 'Rose', and she's one of the most beautiful people I ever had the honour to meet. Zazou, well, I just like it's sound, and it's something uncommon. It also reminds me of 'The Lion King' [though the bird is called 'Zazu'] and therefore of the happy part of my childhood.
So yeah, that's what I'd name myself.

Jefferson.Meriwether 31-08-2012 01:33 PM

I like my username so much that 4 months ago I changed my name to Jefferson Meriwether by Deed Poll. I've kept my middle name the same.

My family still call me by my old name; it took a little while to get used to being called one name by some people and another name by other people.

This is so true! So many names I used to like are now associated with naughty children!

fairylights 31-08-2012 03:34 PM

I have always liked daisy

Porcelain Child 31-08-2012 04:33 PM

I like the name Kacey..

Pi.R^2 31-08-2012 07:28 PM

Jefferson, have you legit changed your name? Can't work out if you're joking or not!

I should change my middle name to Inna by deed poll. Prize to everyone who knows my surname hence understanding why this would be a legit name change.

In more serious news, probably something Irish, like Saoirse or Caoimhe.

If I have kids, they're getting Irish names and are gonna hate me forever because no one will pronounce their names right :p

[Luna] 31-08-2012 07:51 PM

Ophelia Marsden

I'm not even joking..

Is it to do with your surname? Because it sounds rather brilliant when you say it all together.

If I HAD to, I wouldn't change it to something extravagant, I'd use my middle which is Zillah, it's a family name and it's what I'd name my child.

Yep, I've legit changed my name :-)

Ninja Orange 01-09-2012 01:31 AM

I really hope I don't have to disappear and have a new identity in the future, because I quite like my first name. It's short and simple, and I like simple names.
I would legit change my surname though, especially if I end up working somewhere where people would be using it often (like a teacher, where it has to be Miss Blahdeeblah, instead of Anna); it's too awkward a surname for anglophones to pronounce. I'm not sure what I'd change it to though.

Leo Pard 01-09-2012 02:08 AM

I've already changed mine but possibly will again. I'm thinking about it... Obviously it won't be for a while yet but still.

If I had to change it for tax evasion purposes or similar I would change it to something stipid like Nick O'Teen or Dolan Duk.
