wrist banging?
i don't know if i'm alone with doing this or not but i've taken to bashing my wrist on stuff till it goes really red and bruised and swollen, i don't even know why it helps. i was also diagnosed with bipolar a few months ago and am in a really bad low patch at the moment so is it possible its something to do with that? does anyone else do this? x

I've often found that when i let emotion build up inside of me, i need any/some sort of realase of how i feel inside & doing motions similar to what youve said helps i guess?
I found that going for a run, screaming into a pillow or singing really loudly kinda gives a similar sence of releif. Everybodies different, but you could give it a try? These are much safer ways of getting a similar relief and cant have long term effects? Kia <3 |
Yes. I do that. Either that or I just repeatedly punch my legs until they're black and blue. It helps when I'm in school or public and can't get away from whatever is making me distressed.

i do this whenever i have a panic attack.

Tip sharing?
Your doing it because you want to harm yourself. And no, I don't do it |
I did wonder if this was mild tip sharing also.
In the past I have partaken in this particular action. However 'serious' it is deemed, it is still SI at the end of the day. Do you think that it is to do with your diagnosis of being bipolar and you feeling a low patch at the moment? Perhaps you could write down what triggers it, like when you feel the need to hurt yourself like this so that you can identify the problems easier. Take care. |
It might not be, Aimee hugged it.
Who knowssssss. But yeah. Just take care. |
i'm sorry, i really didn't mean to be tip sharing or anything like that

Yes I've done this. I've also punched my legs until they bruised.
