handle with care- jodi piccoult

Has anyone read this? ive just been on holiday and i read it in three days i was so engrossed and i just litterally finished it! its an amazing book! she never fails to make me cry but in a good way i just get so engrossed in the book! i dont want the stpry to ever end! its books like these that leave a mark on you forever!

i would recomend it to anyone, although it has some triggering moments to do with ED and selfharm but the book isnt actually about that its just like a side story running through the book!

AMAZING

I've just got it through a swapping website. Don't know when i'll read it though because my 'to read' pile is huge!

Lindsay, I'm the same. I've got it to read, but there are so many books that I want to read, so I don't know when I'll manage to read it. It sounds really good though and I loved Plain Truth :)

I've read a few of her books including My Sister's Keeper, The Tenth Circle, Perfect Match and I've just finished Nineteen Minutes. I enjoyed all of them, but I have to say Nineteen Minutes I enjoyed the most so far. The little tagline is "Your son says the bullying was unbearable. But his revenge was murder."

Now it could be a little triggering with some of the descriptions of bullying if you are or have been bullied yourself (I wasn't personally, but then again I'm not that easily triggered). But I think those that have suffered because of bullying will relate well with some of the characters, especially the bullied character Peter Houghton, I especially sympathised with his side of the story, knowing by getting revenge on his bullies, he was doing what I and a lot of other sufferers have wanted to do, let's face it.

Now I've put a long review in, I do very much recommend it :P It's around 600 pages and I read it in about three or four days (Keeping in mind I was on holiday at the time, so was rarely able to read and I'm a slow reader). I've never read a book in such a short space of time, I was completely engrossed.

I'm reading The Pact at the moment, but only about ten pages in, so I can't really comment :P And after that, I have Handle With Care ;D which, from what you say, I hope I will enjoy as much as the others :)

I read too much Jodi Picoult..

Nineteen Minutes is my favourite, followed by the Pact, followed by My Sisters Keeper, followed by Change Of Heart, followed by Handle With Care.

I have Salem Falls and the Tenth Circle, but I can't finish any of those. I'd quite like to know what happened in them though.

loved handle with care but the 10th circle would have to be my favourite!!

I love Nineteen minutes too Nic :)

R-Jay 12-09-2010 12:37 PM

Yep! I loved it, but then I love everything by Picoult.
Although the ending was a little :/
It was good, but not as effective as say, my sister's keeper, I thought

I gotta say, i loved this book so much! I then went back after reading it for the first time and just read the sister's chapters, and again could be found bawling my eyes out(!)
I gotta admit as a self harming bulimic Jodi really does do an very good job of getting inside the mindset of someone like that. I love her books - the tenth circle is my next to read, i saw the movie version but have been told the book is so much better!

This is such an AMAZING book. I loved it. I love all of Jodi Picoult's books. This was such a fantastic book. It was so well written, and I just loved the book soooo much, I would read it again any day.

I didn't like the way that, in the end, all of Amelia's - is that her name? I've not read it for ages and can't remember xD - problems seem to be solved and she's fine again. And I didn't like what happened at the very end either!

I love Jodi Piccoult, but Handle With Care isn't her best one at all, I don't think. Nineteen Minutes and Change of Heart are my favourites :)
