urge, gave in.urge want to give in

today has been so stressful
had a urge that just would not go away no matter what i did i did all i could to stay distracted but in the end i just gave in

Keep trying to fight it hun. Do you have something you could do instead? Draw, paint, read, watch a film? Would holding icecubes or snapping a rubbr band off your wrist help?

riverdreams 18-08-2009 08:40 PM

i have done all those things nothing is helping me to stay distracted

Keep posting on here? It may be different from you, but sometimes I find I just resort to keeping my hands busy rather than being distracted.

Hey sweetheart,

I don't really know what to say at the moment, but I'm thinking of you.
Hold onto every thing you've achieved over the past couple of weeks, you're doing fantastically well.
Open the window and take some deep breaths and try to relax.
You can fight this.

Hello dear.
Just because you gave in earlier does not mean you have to again. It's never too late to start over, you do not have to give in. I know you are strong and can get through whatever is going on right now without hurting yourself again. You are doing so great.
Please know that I am here for you if you need anything

like said above: just cause you gave in earlier doesn't mean that you have to again, or that you might as well

You've been really strong, try to keep yourself distracted, feelings pass eventually... they always do, even if it takes a looooooooong time.

Other distractions: lie in bed with your baby, listen to really soothing music (like lullabies) or other music that expressses your current feelings, eat comfort food, take a bath/shower, paint your nails, brush your hair, go on the chat, google random stuff, memorize someting (like all the capitals of europe)...

*huge hugs*
