Will you be boycotting buying torchwood children of earth dvd?

Honestly tell me now will you be boycotting it, some people on one of the facebook groups are boycotting buying the dvd

Er. Forgive me for being retarded, since I don't really watch it, but - why are people boycotting the DVD?

Because they think this series was disturbing and because russell t davies killed one of the characters off

BeautyFiend 11-07-2009 12:32 AM

eh..?

Bleeding Angel 11-07-2009 12:43 AM

who cares honestly? if people found the series good and want to buy it good for them, and if they dont they dont. God people annoy me because something will happen in a tv show they dont like and its the end of the world, then go on about how they will never watch it again and that event ruiend the tv programme.

Its like get a life, im sure a few people on facebook not buying the dvd isnt going to do anything at all. its not like they are going to turn around and go "oh we where wrong lets bring the character back". Its not going to acheive anything.

Rant over.

Uhm..I don't even know what boycotting means xD
So..until I know, I can't comment. :P
But I thought it was amazing :D
I was proper stuck to the screen the entire time.
But poor Ianto :( He was so cool!

I don't understand. Boycotting a tactic to actually change something and make a difference. This would do absolutely no good anyway. Stupid. <_<

Bleeding Angel 11-07-2009 12:48 AM

It means not buying it.

Ohhh.
Pfft, do be serious.
If you don't like it, try and write it yourself!
I pretty much guarantee you won't be able to write a series as popular and as good as this is. Face it.
If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Don't make a group O_O
That's just saaaad.

SuicidalDreams 11-07-2009 02:08 AM

I would never boycott torchwood, iv loved it since it started in 2006 so i don't see why people think because torchwood: Children of earth was so dark and disturbing that they are gonna cancel they're dvd orders so russell t davies can't have their money

Snow White. 11-07-2009 05:17 AM

Wow, how very odd!

Casper_Fading 11-07-2009 05:54 AM

Random!

monket 11-07-2009 06:38 AM

What was so disturbing about it? I've never even heard of it, but it kind of makes me want to watch it now, haha.

Feel_Good_inc. 11-07-2009 10:49 AM

no, I'll probably be buying it eventually. It's got a sad ending yes, but before than it's loaded with awesome explosions and even more awesome naked Jack. lol
But first I want assurances from the creators that Jack will return.

Jack will return =] james moran one of the writers said so in his twitter
"Hasnt ruined s4, we've ensured there's more chance it will happen. Our responsibility is to tell a good story."
Plus jacks in the doctor who xmas and new year specials, but if he tells the doctor what hes done will the doctor forgive him?

PrincessVegeta_x 11-07-2009 01:09 PM

How strange.

tamobhuuta 11-07-2009 08:53 PM

i don't watch Torchwood, but my view is ALWAYS valid so... why would you boycott it? my sister told me about the ending and i think it sounded great, raised some great ethical issues and saved the day without resorting to the ridiculous he's-basically-God ploy that Russell T Davies used so frequently for Dr Who finales. in fact i may have to band together with my sisters and actually by the DVDs.

OutOfTheWoods11 12-07-2009 01:14 AM

Wouldn't have bought the DVD anyway... story was okay but the 'villain' was just not engaging enough for me

Mandimoo 12-07-2009 01:24 AM

boycotting would be not buying it to make a point... so that would mean in other circumstances you would have bought it.

so not the act of someone who didn't enjoy it, found it disturbing etc.

if you like it - buy it
if you don't... don't!

why overcomplicate it?
