Binging
Hey,
Ive had problems with my weight and eating on and off for years now, with ENDOS (never diagnosed.) About 6 months ago i have been on the extreme of not eating but at the moment I'm binging terrible, and not purging. I know its been worse lately due to a lot of stress and emotional things going on but its just so much worse than i expected it to be, i get cravings so badly, am waking up in the morning feeling really sick because ive stuffed myself the night before. And i feel so guilty about it all. im hiding food, theres wrappers and packets hidden around my room. i shop in secret for food, going to different shops each time and feel like the people serving me are judging me. I just dont know what to do with it - i desperately want to be healthy and eat well. but i crave things so badly and feel like i need it... |
I do the same thing my friend. On a regular basis I eat nothing but dry toast, which is only to get something in my stomach. At times I'll go days without eating and then I hit a wall where I'm just hungry all the time.
Here's what I do, when I attempt to do something better. Eat baby carrots and celery sticks. Some yogurt is also better sometimes too, and mostly because they come in so many lovely flavors. Not much, but I hope this helps. |
heya, how you considered seeing your dr to see if they can offer any support to help with your eating?

Well it sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment and stress is one of the main causes for over eating :) Maybe you should try not to be so hard on yourself for these binges. With craving certain foods have you thought about perhaps replacing them with a healthy alternative? I know that when I have had cravings for odd things like strawberry milkshake that I have really really wanted I have replaced it with a strawberry smoothie with a bit of vanilla essence. Sometimes it can be that you are craving certain things because you are hungry so mayb snack healthily throughout the day? x

As I said you should look into some yogurt for cravings like milkshakes and things like that. Try to eat real fruit as well. There's at times, nothing better then an apple. Or a banana and strawberries. Blue berries are my personal fave. Yet I once went through 6 pounds in one night.

i dont even think the cravings are a physical hunger, its psychological - like comfort food. ive really tried to replace it with good foods - i do that at work and then just have that moment of weakness and give in to crap. i think im just going to avoid going to these shops or allowing myself to buy these foods and then hopefully get into a good routine, im just scared the other part/ extreme will surface as a result. theres no real balance at the moment.
im not ready for doctors, but i have a friend who was open about her ED so i might tell her (hopefully i can trust her) |
