My name is Ashton Martin I'm 18 years old and I'm going to be a graduate of 2020. I am Transgender Ftm (Female to Male) which means I was born a girl, but on the inside I am a boy. I really struggle with Self-Harm. I feel depressed a lot, Anxious, and Guilty. :crying: :crying: :crying: :blue: :blue: :blue:

Hi Ashton, welcome to RYL. How are things for you right now? Have you had times before when you've felt less depressed and anxious and are self harming less? What makes you feel guilty?

Hi Ashton, welcome! You'll find you are not the only trans person around on RYL, though some of us are more active than others. I know for me transitioning (whether social, medical, or whatever it looks like for you) was extremely helpful in terms of helping with my self harm, body image, and overall mental health. It was also really helpful to me to find treatment providers who were also trans or gender non conforming, and to find other trans folks I could connect with.

Do you have any support with any of this, either online or offline?

I popped in, but have experience in this. I've now been on Testosterone for 8 years now. Definitely helped my mental health settle down a bit because I figured out what was actually wrong and why I hated myself for so long. I mean, it's not a total fix but it helps for sure.

I don't really come here too much anymore, but I'll try and pop in when I can. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want/need to chat about anything or whatever.
