New To Vets?

Hello Hello.

As have been brought up elsewhere in the forums, it would seem there are a lot of us over 18s that would like to post here, but arent quite sure what to say.

I think i was 16 when i discovered RYL and the vets bit has always felt 'too grown up' for me.. BUT.. im 25 now. I have a child on the way, i live with my partner and i work full time.

Please use this thread to post random thngs, maybe if a few of us get posting regularly we can drag some of the old vets out of the woodwork and get to know each other and it wont be as intimidating to other newbies.

Hi squirrelspit!

I am married and working full time too. I would like to get to know some more vets - sometimes clearly too old for some of the other threads when I don't understand them! ;-)

Hi newbies!

*random things*

I have to be at work at 7.30 tomorrow. [Long story]. So I'm off to the land of nod soon. But will drop by briefly in the darkest hours of morning!

Oh, I'm Katie and I'm 42 in March.

Bunnymad 28-12-2011 09:35 PM

I'm up at silly o'clock too Katie - about half 5! No way you'll find me online then! ;-)

squirrelspit 28-12-2011 09:36 PM

Hi Beth. Lovely to meet you.

Katie.. Perhaps come March everything will suddenly work out for you. 42 is the meaning of life dontcha know!

Ill be getting home from work about 5am and probably crawling into bed just as you are getting out of it Beth.

Stellata 28-12-2011 09:37 PM

My alarm is set for 5.10! Agh!
I need to have a shower and pootle about online of a morning, it helps wake me up from sedation-haze and prepares me for entering The World!

Stellata 28-12-2011 09:38 PM

Ah, good to know. 41 mostly kind of sucked!
We always peer at our daily task sheet at work many times through the day as if it'll dispense the meaning of life. Maybe with the new team and managers it will!

Hi, my name is Rowie and im an older member of ryl. I used to frequent/live in vets 6 years ago. It was the first part of ryl that i frequented/lived in and made many friends here. I guess that as my friends left i found other parts of RYL that suited my needs. Id love to come back and make new friends and see vets as lively as it used to be

much love to all x

Bunnymad 28-12-2011 09:41 PM

I try that trick with bbc news online! Let me know if you find it - I might have to come and work with you! ;-)

Hi beth x

Bunnymad 28-12-2011 09:42 PM

Hi Rowie! Nice to meet you x

Sefka 28-12-2011 09:43 PM

Hello Beth, nice to meet you :)

Coincidentally I also have to be up early tomorrow to go to London and do battle with the Ukrainian embassy to get my visa <sigh>. Spoke to a bloke from there on the phone and he was a massive douche so I'm not looking forward to it.

But at least I don't have to get up quite as early as 5.10! That's just wrong!

Stellata 28-12-2011 09:45 PM

Hi Rowie and Beth. Must remember the names!

BBC news does not have the meaning of life methinks not. [Actually reading news sites is contraindicated by my GP, true story.]

Our new monthly timetable isn't as multi-coloured as the last. What does this mean?!

squirrelspit 28-12-2011 09:46 PM

Ive always enjoyed seeing you around Rowie, How are your hubby and daughter?

Are you very far away from London Sefka? i live in London. :)

How many bunnies do you have Beth?

and Katie.. i often find myself staring into mugs of coffee hoping that the meaning of life will come to me!

Stellata 28-12-2011 09:46 PM

Hi Sefka.

I know. And it's so DARK then at the moment, too!
I really should get to bed, although next door's kids are up late again... At least I have ipod, and ear plugs for when I zzzz.

That this month won't have as much fruit flavour?

I'm near Salisbury at the moment. Usually I live in Kiev. I was in London last summer though, doing a diploma course thing. I thought it was great; I'd love to live there but none of the jobs there seem to pay anything approaching a live-on-able wage, given the cost of living :(

Stellata 28-12-2011 09:53 PM

Hi Liv. :)

As you know, I used to be a primary school teacher. I can provide teaching practice empathy! Mind you, the National Curriculum came in around our final TP time. Yikes!

Ok, am off to bed now. If I manage to switch the alarm clock off first try in the morning, can I get cookies?!

Dunno about the fruit flavour, Sarah. I'm privileged as the only person with a colour on their timetable, as I'm in the office one day a week.

griddlebone 28-12-2011 09:56 PM

Ah yes. ive found it quite hard...I had to flunk my last teaching practice because I found it too difficult and I wasnt well. Im a bit upset about it, but it was the right thing to do. Teaching is hard!x

Bunnymad 28-12-2011 09:56 PM

Charlie? I missed who Charlie is, sorry! But congratulations on bump! :-)

I have 6......had 8 at one point! Was too many so decided to stop at that point! ;-)

Also have an ex-stray cat and a number of fish!

Hi liv - nice to meet you!
