I loved Chaucer's Canterbury Tales when I was at school. We did it for Higher English, I think.

I just read Fast Train Approaching by Steve Walter
It's all about mental illness, and what it was like for him during his breakdowns - Very interesting read |
Very nearly finished Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh, just a couple of pages left to go. I still can't believe I've only just got round to reading it, it's been sitting on my shelf for years. Shameful. After that I'm gonna start the Grapes of Wrath methinks.

More uni children's literature stuff. |
I just finished reading The Secret Diary of Dimented Housewife, by Niamh Greene. It's okay -not that great but not bad either. I was engrossed enough to keep reading but found the main character rather monotomous - she kept overreacting to every situation, and kept using the line 'I think I shall write to ----- to commend/complain about such and such' and it got a little old quickly. But it was an average read - good if you use it as a time waster etc.
