i used to binge and then purge. but its okay now. thank goodness i found a friend that was of great help :)

I Binge Eat, I used to have Anorexia and finally I just got sick of being forced to eat so now I just do it whenever I feel something. Because of my BED, I hate my body because I'm overweight and have stretch marks. I beat myself for it daily because I still cannot control that need to fill any emotions and hide them behind an excessive amount of food. It's terrible...

An incredible post!
Having beaten BED/COE , I wish someone had told me that at the very beginning. If anyone needs help or someone to talk to about this, Im here and I could use someone to talk to too, I mean who doesnt lets be honest. I wont lie, Im not completely over it, I have bad days but I think talking about it will help.

Reading this post. I feel disgusting. :(
I don't really know if I want to admit though...
I found this purely because my school skirt no longer fits properly, seems like I've gained more weight over Christmas/New Year :/ ughh

I would like to add that meditation is super important here.
You know you can get all the help in the world but if you do not go within you and listen to your soul, you won't be able to find what are you trying to fill in - what is that gap that you are trying to stuff with food.. what is that link between you and your soul?

having recovered from the most tremendous binge eating (22 years of it!!) i realised that my disorder was a SPIRITUAL ISSUE.. I was lost, i did not know who i was and i was trying to stuff that empty space with food.. always...

that gap between me and my soul got so deep that i had to stuff it whenever i experienced any kind of feeling that was 'unhappy' feeling..

and when i got on my knees and started praying and asking for help from higher power i received a healing - i received a miracle.. i am free now. tears are running through my eyes as i write this. i thought i will NEVER recover.

so my advice would also be spiritual practice - and by no means i am saying you need to start going to church or believe in something that is against you. spirituality is actually finding YOURSELF, listening to that DEEPER CALLING, inner voice. that is what i call spiritual practice... it is asking and receiving guidance, it is letting universal energy heal you and get you to your REAL SELF. who is beautiful, who is eternal and who is so loved.

This was a really lovely empathetic post.

I understand some things aren't in our control- for example my living/household situation- and when I am away from the stresses of that household- I was eating mindfully again.

I think acknowledging that some things aren't in our control- is a good way to validate why we may compulsively over-eat. You need to feel less invalidated by the world and validated by the right sources- and that can be yourself.

It is really difficult to change what is not in our control, to be how we'd like.
A therapist can really help unravel this complex situation to help you gain more control over your life.
