Finished Lisey's Story. I really really liked it. Can't decide what to read next!
|
Oh, I think I almost bought that at one point Lindsay. Let me know if it's any good!

Now reading Echoes In Death - J. D. Robb, for library reading group. |
I might not bother reading it then!

Other people seemed to really like it, maybe I was being harsh!
Finished Half In Love With Death: Managing The Chronically Suicidal Patient - Joel Pars. Gave it 2 stars (it was ok) based on my perceptions as a chronically suicidal person. Maybe practitioners would have liked it more, it's an American book mainly for psychotherapists I think. Still reading Echoes In Death - J. D. Robb. Bored of it already. Also reading Happy - Fearne Cotton. Wasn't going to read this but saw it for 75p in a charity shop so decided to get it. |
What did you think of Happy, Lindsay? I've started reading it but haven't got far yet.
I've just read Come a Little Closer by Rachel Abbott. I didn't love it, but it was okay. |
I gave Happy 3 stars (liked it) I didn't get anything from it to be honest but I think it could be useful for people with lower level MH issues. It was a little repetitive at points.
Still reading Echoes In Death. Also reading Bookworm: A Memoir Of Childhood Reading - Lucy Mangan. |
Free books can be a bit rubbish most times! Unless it was a deal you got? I used to download free books but I don't do it much any more.

Finished Alice and Red Queen by Christina Henry.
4/5 - Loved it very much. Very dark and graphic depictions of child abuse, but a fantastic take on a different version of Alice in Wonderland. Currently reading Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky - it's really good so far, but only read about 20%. And Friend Request by Laura Marshall which is a really stupid book but I've nearly finished it so I may as well. Maybe there'll be a twist near the end. |
Icecream girls-Dorothy Koomson- 4/5 my second attempt to read this, first time was a couple of years ago in a psych ward when on haloperidol which made reading nigh on impossible. This time round, really intriguing plot and characters, some bits a little bit like baggage but generally a fantastic book that keeps you guessing. Warning though, some pretty heavy abuse themes at times, and some mentions of self harm which I really wasn't expecting.
